It's strange to say this but I have a story aboot your collection. Many years ago (might have been 2012), I meet a fellow Ontario collector (Phil). He foretold me stories that one day he believed such Retrozone collectors would one day exists. And now that prophesy has been fulfilled. That collector is you...

Congrats.

You're refering to OSG?

Yup.
He said one day he would'nt be suprised if folk's started going for complete retrozone sets.

Enter the K3vbot.

I don't see the original version of the NWC repro (numbered, but without dip switches), although it's possible I overlooked it. Still, that's quite a collection dude!

"It's always amazing to me how some of the most worthless games from a gaming perspective tend to fetch outrageous amounts of money. But then again, it could be said that something is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. I'm curious if the high bidder of the $873.04 Stadium Events (cart-only) realizes that it's nowhere nearly as rare as about 20+ games I can think of that sell for 1/10th that amount?  At any rate, I wanted to draw attention to this trend: if people say it's rare, it must be true, and therefore it must be had at any price."

Congrats on finishing the set. You'll also get an LE of DonD and Brony Blaster later on since you helped me test the games , so your collection is going to stay complete for a while
Don't have too much homebrews myself believe it or not. I'd love to get more but I'm too focused on developing my own.
Love KHAN's stuff though. I'd also love to get Mad Wizard and Amondus some day, I really like the concept for both games.

I believe you can still mail-order ETs. Just ask KHAN. Fun port of an unfairly hated game

I'm not sure if I have the first complete set or not. I don't know of anyone else, but I know there are a number of people close, and many people who have cooler versions of games than I.

I can officially take the coolest selfie though!

the KYFF factor really counts out the possibility of many people having full sets.

That's a kick ass collection. RetroUsb's carts are so cool to have on the shelves. I especially like that red DK.

Congrats on completing the set and also having all those signatures carts. That's a really cool bonus.

Can use the NWC argument here. KYFF was never officially released. It was more of a special event cart that was given away/sold/whatever at the end of the special event, and that was it.  It shouldn't count towards part of a full set.

Pics or it didn't happen, fuel the lust .

Also, I was wondering which one you were missing, and about to look into things further, and then I saw your signature. That was a quick research trip.

Hey K3vbot!

Glad I could supply you with a puzzle piece in your awesome collection. I've always been enamored with the NES and continue to this day to feel that there is something in the best of those early games that many modern games fail to capture. I don't know to what extent it's me looking at them through the rose-colored glasses of nostalgia, and to what extent it is something truly in the games, but I feel there was a certain level of challenge and craft to those games that just hits a sweet spot with me. That's why I think it's so great to see people developing for the NES still. It hits that nostalgic chord and, in the best moments of homebrew (I'm looking at Battle Kid, Star Versus, and even non-games like Alex Mauer's wonderful cartridge albums of which I own three), it brings me right back to that visceral enjoyment of gaming I first experienced when I picked up a controller and have not frequently experienced in modern games since.

I was looking at all of the 4-player NES games (I got a fourscore for the NES to play 4 player MULE with my friends, we love it and it got me wanting other 4p NES games) and I discovered that 8-bit Xmas 2011 includes a Warlord clone. I'm tempted to go out searching for a copy of that one, how hard was that one for you to find?
