I don't have any good way to record what I do on my consoles, so I would have to use an emulator on my computer to record my gameplay. I don't use emulators much at all.

What is the best program/way to do this?

I use camtasia studio 8, it's an easy enough program to crack. I've never had any sort of problems with it. I think some emulators have a recording option, but I've never looked into it myself, but I know TASers use those, not sure how well they work though.

You can record directly from an emulator, I think. I have a few times in Nestopia

You can get a Twitch TV account stream your play and then upload to YouTube.

Best option is to purchase a video converter and record from your console. It uses an adapter with RCA cables and a USB for a laptop or computer.

This is also an option, you can only play back easily through the emulator though.

You're doing it wrong then, it can output to AVI and whatnot.

Yeah, I just started messing around and it looks like Nestopia can make movies which you can convert to AVI, and then you can merge that with a wav file you record using 'sound recorder' using windows movie maker.

I have to say that this guy's video...sucks. But, it does clearly explain how to do it.

There are a few emulators that do have the movie recording/conversion into avi feature. If yours doesn't have one, use a screen recorder. You can use Hypercam if you don't have any money, but it will leave a watermark in the upper left corner if it's unregistered. Fraps is supposed to be good. Hopefully your computer is good enough that it can handle emulation and recording without lagging.

Anyone saying to get screen recording technology instead is out of their mind, just get a better emu that records to AVI. It's that simple, no need to complicate it.
