I'm going to go look at a 100+ nes game lot tomorrow. More than likely I will have a majority of these games in this lot. My question is do I pick through the lot for the ones I need or do I buy the whole damn thing. This will be the biggest lot I have ever looked at buying. I stumbled across this when I found a lot of 10 games for $25.00 on c.l. I contacted them and they said they have over 100 games if I was interested in all of them. I know 2 bucks a cart is a good deal hell so is 2.50. I guess I'm asking for a price check just for the sheer size of the lot do I offer cheaper than 2.50 a cart? Help!

At $2.50 with decent labels I'd go for the whole lot.

Be cool man, if they let you pick I'd grab anything I'd need or remotely decent. If you see the whole lot has a nice mix and most carts are in good shape, consider asking how much for everything, chances are they'll go lower than $2.50 per cart.

Yeah, honestly, there has to be a lot of decent titles to make it worth it even at $2.50 apiece. If it has all the big names (SMB, Zelda, Contra, Mega Man, Kirby, Castlevania, etc) then it's worth it, but a lot of licensed movie-tie-ins or stuff like that I'd just pass on. There are plenty of NES games that aren't worth $1 unless you're into making money on shipping, and at $2.50 you wouldn't even make enough that way. That's IF you can find someone to even buy em.

I.knew I asked for a reason. I guess this one will be a judgement call. I might just pick through it at this point. Im fairly certain they will let me.

I bought a huge NES, SNES lot at $1.50 each and I still got burned by the amount of sports titles. If there are some good games mixed with mostly sports crap, pick away like a buzzard!

Unless the sports games are rare, they are of no value! Your average person wanting to play some old video games won't even touch them!

What's your usual outlet of resale? If it's solely ebay, make sure there's enough $10+ titles to cover the entire amount you plan on paying for the lot.

If you have a booth at a flea market or sell at local video game shows, you can adjust that since you have an easy outlet to get rid of the commons at a mild profit. (But I wouldn't go in blindly for $2.50 a cart, that's just asking to get burned. Plus, if someone else got there before you and cherry-picked at 10 for $25....)

^ I just try to trade my doubles here for carts I don't have. I have dabbled on e-bay a bit. My sole reason for going to look at this is to find games I don't have, but if i find games I know are worth more than 2.50 I will get them.(popular games, mario, zelda, metroid ya know. (upgrades, resell, trade's on here.)

I usually won't buy large lots unless its more like $1 a cart. Then I like to put the extra carts that nobody usually wants (sports games, crappy commons, carts with damaged labels, etc) towards other lots when I resell stuff. Selling a lot with 50 games for $50 sounds pretty good to new collectors even if you don't make a profit on the games you spent a $1 on. I don't try too hard for profits on crappy carts, its too hard to make that work, but it isn't too hard to unload them on someone else that wants to buy a big lot and have a lot of games.

Pick through em. You don't want to be a storage unit for junk titles that have no value.

Nothing note worthy just 10 commons I was missing for 20 bucks....dude had 86 games total wanted 160.00 for all of it but I didn't want to bother with them as I already have about 60 doubles that need to go.

If they are asking $25 for 10, they will probably take a lower offer for all 100. That's my rule of thumb.
