I haven’t seen any posts about this game so I thought I’d help bring some attention to it. A company called Neofid Technology just launched a Kickstarter for a fun-looking game called Demons of Asteborg for the Genesis. It’s a platformer in the spirit of Ghouls ‘n Ghosts and Castlevania, and it promises a Panzer Dragoon-inspires bonus level.

Looks interesting. Think it'll get funded?

Hard to say since it only just launched and I don’t want to jinx it. But the last few homebrews on Kickstarter have had wild success, and this looks really good. I backed them earlier today and made a similar post on Sega-16 to help spread the good word.

Wow, that is a lofty funding goal.

It looks nice, but seems to be the first serious project for the creators. A bit high of a goal considering.

This looks fantastic, but shipping to the US is 25 Euro (~$27). Puts the total order for a CIB copy at $93. Kind of steep. I'll have to think on it.

It looks like a pretty neat game. I like the look and feel of games made for retro systems.

This pretty much kills it for me too. They either need to lower the total asking price, or find alternative shipping methods. It's just not a viable purchase for international customers.

Game looks great though! Hopefully they'll do a ROM-only version for a low price. I'd Be glad to pay 5 bucks ++ for a quality ROM.

I write shorthand reviews of every classic game I beat on The Backloggery, have a look-see.

They have two digital-only tiers.

10 euro for the Switch or Steam version.

15 euro for the ROM file directly.

I'm in, at the Digital Pack level. I think many more of us Americans would have gone for the cartridge levels if shipping to the US wasn't €25, ouch, but I'll be more than happy with the Digital Pack, thanks to my Everdrive flashcart and Model 1 Genesis, and the PicoDrive emulator on my beloved hacked PSP as well; and I can give the Steam version to my kiddo. :-)

I really hope this gets funded; looks like there's no hope of reaching the 2 player co-op stretch goal :'-(

C'mon guys, this game looks fantastic, you know you wanna help put it over the top, at least go in for the ROM :-)
