A guy that I am trying to make a deal with on craigslist says that he has a gold 007 cartridge...I have never hear of one of these and after some quick eBay and google searches I still came up dry. I told him that I thought that may have been something that someone just made with a Majora's Mask or Pokemon Stadium 2 cart but he assured me that it was a game that he has had since his childhood. Any help here? Was there a gold varient cartridge for Goldeneye 007? Thanks guys!

No there is not a documented gold GE 007 in a gold cart. Either custom made (99.9% probability) or one of a kind employee/promo copy (in that case it'd have to have some sort of proof accompanying it).

Yeah... Sounds like he either doesn't know what he is talking about or is trying to pull a fast on on you... How much is he asking for this ultra rare gold cart?

He just wants to trade it for a copy of Super Mario Bros. 3 on the NES.

Ha, yeah for SMB3, I'd do it just for the hell of it. I'd be incredibly surprised if it was legit. I've never heard of any Nintendo Promotions of that sort, nor heard or seen a cart like it.

My guess is a kid with some spray paint took care of it. Although perhaps it's an error cart from Nintendo's factory... as in, game case was broke.. it gets sent into Nintendo and a gold cart got sent back. Defiantly post a pic of it after you do the trade.

I guarantee it is a custom job. Reminds me of the black Ocarina of Time cart that was posted a little bit ago, cool but not a legit cart

My guess is that it's a fake.
There is no record of a 007 gold cartridge anywhere. Chances of one surfacing out of the blue after 15 years sounds very unlikely. Only logic would be if it was somehow an error from the factory....

Well the person won't return my calls anymore so the deal appears to have fallen through. So sadly, we may never see this "one of a kind" cartridge But I guess thats Craigslist for ya.
