The dates put it at a bad time for Gameboy RPGs. But I checked Sword of Hope 2 (96) and Castlevania Legends (97) and it's neither of those. 

well there are a ton more titles  
and as i got it: the date is not confirmed ...
 

Artists don't usually sign their paintings with future dates.

edit: apologies. I missed this post:
I'm not going to swear by the date. The artist was known to sign other pieces long after the fact so he could be going by memory on the date. He did hundreds of illustrations. Mistakes can be made.

 

I wonder if this was used as a promo for Neutopia 2:

Isn't that just the regular N2 title screen? Or is that grey writting in the middle new

Don't know I was just watching a video on Zelda clones and noticed it.

 

If "1996" is correct, then the year for Neutopia II is wrong. Wiki says the game teases Neutopia III, but that game was never released. I wonder if they had actually started development and concept art for N3?


 

Hmmmmm, i've never heard of Neutopia III before. Reading through the original TG16 magazines though there's tons of games mentioned that were never released (NA or JPN even). Like Bonk RPG, I would have died to see that released. But i've only read the early magazines from TurboForce and DuoWorld, so there's a good chance the later magazines would have touched on it more. As Neutopia II itself was a very late release.
