Yeah, it's about time for me to start hounding Mike to update the list again. But I'll wait a little longer and see what else DoctorEncore has to post...

-------------------------

My mantra, as worded by SamSpade on 06/12/12:
I don't resell to fund my collection, I don't treat this hobby like a second job, I don't care if my collection is worth ten bucks or ten thousand because I never plan on selling it. Seriously, what does the value have to do with anything if you never plan on selling? Speculation doesn't mean jack shit to me at this point, I just want to play my nes games...

I think I have at least 4 more that aren't on the list and a few others that are. Posting the pics was a huge pain, but I think it's worthwhile so I'll add them as I have time.

I would prefer photos but feel free to post the codes until you can post photos.

Unfortunately, the easiest way to get the codes is to just pull the photos I already took. And if I'm going to do that, I might as well just post the pics.

Glad to see the thread is still kicking. Dr. Morbis, if the list *was* to be updated how much of the library would we roughly have?

Just got a copy of Lemmings in this week. The shrink was dirty, but the box was actually pretty nice underneath. Amazingly, the cartridge label was already peeling, despite not being a shitty Acclaim title.

Can't believe this wasn't already on the list. Such a terrible and common game.

Morbis, I'll see if I can get a list together of what I have to give you some idea. Between work and family and other stuff (went whitewater rafting this weekend, it was awesome), I haven't had a lot of time recently. If I could easily post with pictures from mobile, or this site wasn't blocked at work, this would go a lot faster.

I wouldn't say it's a terrible game. It just couldn't decide if it wanted to be Tetris or Dr. Mario so it chose both.

For the inserts that don't have any code, I usually just put the copyright date as it gives us something to go by. There are two Playing With Power posters. A 1988 and 1989 version.

Destiny of an Emperor (Oval Seal)

Destiny of an Emperor (Oval Seal)
Box: NES-YZ-USA
Cart: NES-YZ-USA
Manual: NES-YZ-USA*
Poster: CAP-YZ-US
Mega Man Refund: CAP-NES-US-3
Capcom Registration: CAP-NES-US-1
Projection Warning: NES-RPTV-USA
Nintendo Power Advert: PMG-USA

Of note, the front of this game promises a Mega Man sticker, something I had been seeking for months when I purchased it. Much to my dismay, there was no sticker to be found. Instead it includes the Mega Man Refund offer. I am now convinced that these Capcom box-front labels are not to be trusted. The ONLY game I have consistently seen with the sticker is Code Name: Viper, which advertises only the Mega Man refund. In another thread devoted to this topic, others have claimed a sticker also came with Mega Man 2, something I've seen once on eBay.

Yup, Capcom strike again. You can't trust anything on the box. That's unfortunate as having the sticker would be a great addition. Also for the sleeves, can list whether they are a smooth sleeve or textured sleeve? Every bit of detail helps.

I saw that people were interested in that info, so I was hoping the pics would provide enough detail to make that call. I'll have to go back and look to compare them since I'm definitely not an expert on that.

Lemmings is the only one that should have the textured sleeve. All of the rest pre-date when the change happened.

Does anyone know if the versions of Play Action Football that were opened are the "4" box front or "4-player symbol" box front? The pictures in this thread have been lost to history. Austin?

See attached below for examples (bottom left of box front).

Austin532 to the rescue here LOL. I'm pretty sure the white 4 Player Game is the first print. The red ones came later as they are a little easier to see from a distance. Some where just stickers placed over the original and some were printed. I recently opened a sealed white version and it has the following:

- Cartridge (NES-NB-USA)
- Box (NES-NB-USA)
- Manual (NES-NB-USA*)
- 4 Player Play Card (NES-NB-USA) X2
- 4 Player Games Advert Poster (4PL-NES-US-1)
- Nintendo Power Subscription Card (PMG-USA)

Pretty much the same. All of the manuals I've seen have the * at the end so I think the ones on Wizard's list might be wrong.

Nice. If I pick up a Red 4 version, I'll add it to the thread so we can truly confirm.

Regarding sleeves/dust covers, what do you consider to be smooth vs textured? I've attached a picture of the sleeve for Bases Loaded and Lemmings. What would you call each of those?

See how the first has more of a smooth cracked feel while the 2nd has more of a textured feel and design to it. There is also a 3rd variant which has a very rough texture feel to it. Those only came with certain titles that were manufactured in the USA. Mostly the later release Acclaim titles that use white paperboard inside the box.
