EarthBound is one of the big name semi-rare RPGs on the SNES that everybody seems to want.

I'd say a CIB, in great condition, with all scratch-n-sniff stickers, is worth around $100-150, depending on how it's listed.
Loose, I'd say around $50.

Burnambill hit it pretty dead on. My price guide average has it at $50 cart only and $125 complete. They can run up to $150 ish though easily.

Thanks very much. Just making sure my $50 purchase was worthy. And it seems it was a decent buy. (This is turning into a thinly disguised brag post...)

Old aunts used to come up to me at weddings, poking me in the ribs and cackling, telling me, "You're next." They stopped after I started doing the same thing to them at funerals.

Yeah, it's a pretty common game, R4 at best, but it's one of those high-demand buggers that I hate having to chase. You can usually get a deal well below market if you look long enough, but $50 CIB is pretty good for it. Even if you don't want to keep it you can easily turn it around for double what you paid. Nice pick up man

"It's always amazing to me how some of the most worthless games from a gaming perspective tend to fetch outrageous amounts of money. But then again, it could be said that something is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. I'm curious if the high bidder of the $873.04 Stadium Events (cart-only) realizes that it's nowhere nearly as rare as about 20+ games I can think of that sell for 1/10th that amount?  At any rate, I wanted to draw attention to this trend: if people say it's rare, it must be true, and therefore it must be had at any price."

heh, I'm so glad I was into RPG's back in the SNES days. I already have a lot of games CIB like Earthbound and all the SquareSoft stuff and a bunch of others from back then.

I was into RPGs too...too bad I didn't get a SNES until 1999 :-/ Stupid poor parents. But at least I can say I earned everything in my collection, minus the dozen or so games my parents have bought me over the course of my life.

Thanks Chico. I usually don't pay that kind of money for games anymore, but I really couldn't pass it up at that price. - Scott Hall
