Change the topic title if anyone wants to discuss the show or comics, we can do it here!

Original Post:
Title pretty much sums it up. I've been reading the series since it came out, unfortunately i didn't collect all of them when they came out so i had to pick up some back issues. The good part of that is none of them were the really expensive ones. I'm down to my last 9 and then i will have the full run. I think i am going to track down all the variant covers too. I don't really do this for many comics, but i love this series so i want to get them all. Anyone else?

I came across all the book versions for $5 each a week ago. Couldn't beat the price. I like Comics, but won't go out of my way to get them.

I saw some random ones pop in my local honey hole of a pawn shop but they were like...really out of order..I wonder why. I saw them come in...only 3 of them, numbers 5, 14 and idk what else but very odd. I was going to get them but the pawn shop wanted way to much for them, which is why they are still sitting on the shelf a month or two after I put them back and desided to spend that money on a game or two.

I've wanted to get the volumes because I don't feel like finding all the series, but everyone wants to much for them. I'll just have to wait till the price drops like The Watchmen. I remember wanting it around the time the movie was coming out, my BF was a fan of the comic and told me I'd love it, he ended up sending me his copy because I couldn't find a cheap copy. Once the show finishes off and the buzz dies down, I'll scoop up the volumes for cheap.

The show will probably last for some time now and the value of the funnybook isn't exactly tied to the show's popularity,  which is a good thing given how poorly written it is, especially when compared to the source material.

Anyhow, there are two volumes so far, titled The Walking Dead Compendium, each collecting forty-eight (48) issues of the series. Both are very, very cheap considering how much material you are getting. Last time I checked they were both available for roughly $30 apiece. If you get both of those volumes it will lead directly into the series' best storyline to date featuring a villain that makes The Governor look like a pantywaist.

Season opener was awesome!

I pick up the volume releases as they come out, though I haven't finished reading the "All Out War" part 1 volume. The comic series feels like it jumped the shark to me about the time they introduced the guy with the tiger.

Here's a verbatim example: "OK, there's Ganon and miniature Ganon and there's these things like jelly beans and the miniature Ganon is more powerfuller, because when you touch him the flying eagles come down and the octopus shoots red rocks and the swamp takes longer." It started off pretty good tonight. I was expecting at least one character to bite it and it didn't happen. Just as an update, if anyone has some comics they want to get rid of i only need #10 and #33 if anyone wants to sell!

I started reading the comic back in 2010...I think. I really didn't like its recent issues around that time. I felt like it kinda jumped the shark and started going for a bit more shock value. Maybe it's gotten better with time.

I haven't watched the show for many reasons. Mostly the bad taste the comic left in my mouth.

However I did buy the first season of the game for the Vita. I haven't gotten around to playing it but it sounds really solid.

Given what Kirkman has done with the title following the big tenth anniversary blow-out story, I am done reading the book.

I used to collect them. I had over 100 issues with a few variants. Then sold them all because I was getting tired of comic books taking up so much space. I collected a bunch of comic book series, mostly new stuff, but I decided I needed to have only 1 hobby (video games) and sold the majority of my comics. I just don't have the funds and space for 2 expensive hobbies.

I've been reading the books since 'all out war' story arc. Got the first 3 volumes so gotta find a deal on the rest or just get those big books they have.

To OP - so do you have the 1st print - 1st issue?
Also I think it was last year that their was a walking dead comic during 'free comicbook day' and Todd mcfarlane did a spawn cover to appear like the 1st issue of walking dead.

Side note- this thread should be *walking dead comic/show disscuss*
Don't want to make another thread of this topic but since this a new one could do a rename^

I sure do! Got it before it went up in price. Looking at the ebay prices makes me want to sell....

I've thought about it, but i don't really want to put it in the mail, and i'm not a fan of CGC in general. Even though, i will never read the issue and i can get more for it if i do it. Maybe one day...

Well do what I do, if a con is in your area and they are there take it with you.
I never mailed my comics, always taken them to their booth.

Has anyone been reading the current storyline? I am curious to know what you think of where it's heading.
