yeah, they don't have a stanley cup win in color (ie black and white tv back then).   that being said the canucks aren't doing much better with no wins since joining the league in 70, but at least we've been to a couple finals including a game 7 in that time.

Plus, this year is lookin' like a pretty good shot, although anything can happen

Leafs VS Habs = You never know what will happen.

This could either be a win or a loss, whatever the lineup of both teams, even if it's just a last  game with no meaning for the Leafs or Habs.

at least leafs fans are loyal, you have to give them that. Mind you vancouver set a pro sports record of consecutive losing seasons (15) in the dark days so we've had our share of that :/

osgood is a sieve


Osgood may be a sieve now, but he's won the Red Wings 2 Stanley Cups, one in 1998 and the other in 2008.  Plus, he's 10th place all-time in goalie wins with 401, so I'd hardly say he has been a sieve his whole career.

unfortunately you're right and the past 6 or 7 years were just crap. This is the first year that the Leafs are looking like they have a future. I'm pretty confident to say that they will be in the playoffs next season, making it this season would be gravy. There's still a chance, a small chance, but a chance nonetheless.

aaaaaaaaaaaaand the canucks shit the bed tonight against the oilers. Woof. Worst game I can remember them playing in a looong time.   Blech. Guess its hard to motivate for mean-nothing games. Hopefully a better affair next time

You have to give the Oilers a little credit. Came into the toughest rink in the NHL and played a terrific game. Canucks didn't have an abundance of time and space. Dubs did his job, and Omark/Parjaarvi/Hartikainen were flying.

Was a treat to watch my two favorite teams play each other. I was rooting for OT, so they'd both get a point. But in OT, I was rooting for Chicago to win, oh well, 1 point is better than none
