Sorry for the delay folks, but this month I was waiting on a very special release...

Thanks to member Masonsushi who kindly sent his prototype to me to be dumped, I proudly present you with S.C.A.T.!

This prototype is very special to Mason as it was found while on his honeymoon.  It was purchased in a small mom and pop store in Maui for the astounding price of $10!  Video of the cart can be seen on Mason's youtube page here:

Thanks so much Mason, it's people like you that make collecting prototypes so enjoyable! If anyone sees Mason around, make sure to say thanks!

The ROM has been attached to the first post of this thread.

I believe the correct term is "Cleveland Steamer", but well played regardless haha.

A little Late again, but still in time for September. This month's ROM release is our first unlicensed offering; Krazy Kreatures!

My girlfriend paid $150 shipped for this game for my birthday, so it's a cool little proto for me. Enjoy the ROM, and keep and eye out for next month's release!

Hey guys!

Bumping this one up after a month off, just wanted to reach out a bit to you all. Matt and I have been dumping ROMs from our personal collection since the beginning of this and it has always bee a pleasure. After seeing the NintendoAge awards and realizing that not a single one of our ROMs was nominated for "Best ROM Release" (the category didn't even get created as a result), I'm thinking it would be nice if some other members stepped up and released some of their ROMs. This takes an awful lot of money to buy and release these games, and I was really bummed out to not even get recognized as a nominee. Mason was a huge help with his release for August, anyone want to volunteer for November?

Mods, could we get this moved to protoculture?

I wouldnt take the awards thing too hard. You guys are doing a great thing for the community and we all know that. The awards mean about as much as the ones you got in highschool for the yearbook (ie class clown, etc).

Yeah man, don't be emo . I wouldn't take the awards thing too personally. I mean, I am clearly the best looking member on these boards, but I didn't get nominated for the "Most likely to sweep Wiz's mom off her feet" award, but I ain't crying.

If you guys are truly doing this for the community (which I believe you are), then you shouldn't let something trivial like this bother you. The appreciation is there every time someone boots up their emulator to play a cool unreleased game, whether you guys see the recognition of that or not. Just be cool, dudes.

Not trying to sound like a Debbie Downer guys, just cost a lot of money to acquire this stuff and I could be cashing in and selling a lot of these dumps instead of releasing them for free. To not have a single person recognize a single release takes a bit of wind out of sails, that's all.

I changed the title of the thread to reflect the community, let's release some games together. Matt and I will still continue to do releases, just seeing if other members want to help with the ROM donating.

I'm with Nesguy, don't give the award nominations a second thought.

There wasn't much hype surrounding nominations, so the level of community involvement at that stage was probably much lower than Bella originally hoped for. As a result, a lot of recognition worthy things have gone unmentioned.

I know I didn't really participate to any great extent because I always thought that kind of thing, in a group as small as ours, always comes off as a sort of circle-jerk.

I didn't participate for the same reason, so I guess I can definitely hear you on that.  Thanks Arch.

How about this...

What if Matt and I release one this month and someone tries to step up for December?  Let's make this a community theme and get these ROMs out to the public without asking for money.

I'll cook up a fun one for this month and then hopefully someone steps up for next month!

Yeah, Mark when I think of protos you and your brother are the first to come to mind after DreamTR. I read the proto release question as being favorite that has been sold as a cart... which for me was Spy vs Spy 2 because I was previously unaware of it's existence.

Hoppin' Mad is a cool release too, especially cool because you released the ROM for free as a download as well as the cart release. I totally appreciate what you guys are doing, but Spy vs Spy was more of a sentimental vote at least in my case.

That being said, I also hate popularity contests... at least you can take something away from being nominated. It's a pity that "all of the above" is never an option in these sort of things.

The awards were just for cart releases. Hoppin' Mad is on there.
If they did ROM releases, I'd venture to bet that D pad Hero would win cause that game is awesome.
