This is the first time I have come across a non-deluxe set. I don't know much information about it other than it doesn't say deluxe set on the box. I bought it for 25$ this morning from a hit on my CL ad. The box looks quite well on the outside, but it shows evidence of moisture on the inside. ROB is actually broken, but luckily nobody bought the ROB in my FS thread, so I have a replacement. Only came with one gyro spinner. Came with a nice CIB Gyromite, complete good condition foam, 2 ROB posters, visor paper, and the gyromite setup (excluding that one gyro).

1) what is the true significance of it not saying "deluxe set"? Was this one sold at launch compared to retail stores after??

2) Is there a value difference between the "non-deluxe set" and the "deluxe set"?? Is this one more desirable?

Dude I'd say you got a good deal paid 150.00 for mine with some games complete rob working, box similar condition but no boxed gyromite and no styrofoam. The non deluxe is less common than the deluxe not really a huge difference price wise though. At least a few years ago when I checked that is.

That is the absolute first nes console, once super mario came out the rob sets were repackaged saying deluxe set. The non-deluxe set is definitely the more desirable of the two.

That box looks very nice, quite unfortunate about the moisture damage
