Thought I would make a list. I have most of them memorized but if I made a mistake let me know so I can correct it. The problem is some of the cards carried over to the next year and some didn't so it gets confusing if you are going for 100% CIB. Anyways I'll start with NES.

1985 - None
1986 - None
1987-1988 - Nintendo Fun Club and REV-1 (White card with Mario on it)

1988-1989 - PMG-US (Purple looking with 3 kids and dog in space)

1989-1990 - Oh god....I could really use some help with this as there are several variants. I might be missing a few. - PMG-PT-USA, PMG-QU-USA, PMG-VR-USA, PMG-MW-USA, PMG-AA-USA, PMG-BB-USA, PMG-CC-USA, PMG-DD-USA (First four are just covers of the first four Nintendo Power issues, the later four are pictures of people and their interests.

1990-1991 - PMG-USA, PMG-UM ( First one is yellow and blue and looks similar to 1989's design, second one shows Mario and a flying Goomba and was exclusive to Super Mario Bros. 3.)

1991-1992 - PMG-USA-1 (Yellow with four people on cover and says "Danger do not open!")

1992-1993 - GP-NES-USA (Purple and says "I Pulled the ultimate one-up!"

1993-1994 - GP-NES-USA-1 ( Purple and says Whoa! "You're not going to believe what's inside!") This is actully the Gameboy version insert but the NES looks exactly the same except for the code.

1994 - Same as 1993.

Nice list, but you should really add some pics of each in chronological order. It would be cool to see the progression over the years.

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. The problem is I am missing 1989's PMG-AA-USA and PMG-CC-USA. I will see if I can find pics of those and then post all of them.

Alright, I've added pics to the list if anyone is curious to see what they look like. To my knowledge some of these if not all carried over to the next year but were usually replaced a month or two later. That is why you may find a 1988 insert in a early 1989 game or a 1989 insert in a early 1990 game and so on.

Nice work.............. you have them all based on my list. The only one I saw on a Wizard_666 list was PMG-NM-USA included with Ninja Gaiden. I have never been able to locate to verify this one.

Also you first item I believe has variants.... nintendo business reply mail in with Mario holding mushroom and free membership on the one side...1-3 rev-1 and 1-4 non rev-1

I feel like I've seen that Ninja Gaiden insert before but I can't say for sure. It must be very limited and only came with Ninja Gaiden. I could have sworn there was another blue '89 variant as well.

You are right about the Fun Club variant. I added it to the pics. Also the more I think about it I'm not sure if the Fun Club insert was in any '87 games. It think they started appearing in early to mid '88 as the card implies that the newsletter was already out. Can anyone confirm this?

You think you can upload new pictures austin?

If not I believe I have all of them. I can scan them and give them to you somehow so we can have picture examples of each one again. Let me know.

And why isn't this post stickied?
