Someone please correct me if I am wrong. I am not accusing anyone of foul play.

Can someone pipe in about the wiring? Do many protos have repro-like wiring?

Don't know if this has been posted or not (search yielded nothing), but eBay seller johnydavid may have sold a fake Archon prototype. This prototype looks like a run-of-the-mill reproduction (lifted pins, wires and all).

He drops DreamTR name as the source:

Thanks for looking!

Compare his prototype to the one DreamTR posted a little while ago.

I was the winner of that auction. We agreed to do the transaction here on NA. The NA transaction is NA-36375 with NintendoAge user JD http://www.nintendoage.com/index....

So wait... you saying it's fake?

Possible that DreamTR had more than one?

Very possible that he had more than one.

Why wouldn't the devs make the all the proto boards the same?

It looks like Dream sold him 2 protos on 9/12/12. Just says "2 PROTOS".

It's probably legit then. Can someone pipe in about the wiring? Do many protos have repro-like wiring?

All but one of my protos have wiring.

All I can say is they look professional, unlike repro wiring.

The proto in question was purchased from Jason and 100% legit

Can you elaborate? How do they look "professional"?

The prototype in the auction is 100% legit.

The photo of the Archon prototype in this thread with the red label is actually a picture of my prototype, not Dream's. That too is legitimate.

Nothing to worry about here, but it's always good to double check.

Some prototype wiring/soldering is well done, and others are piss-poor.  Keep in mind, this stuff was almost always done in house by relative notice solder-ers (is solderers a word?).

Wire jumps on prototypes are extremely common.

Yeah, wrong ten times over.

The one in the auction is a million percent real and was previously owned by dream.

The red one you linked to is mine, never dreams, and is also as real as it gets.

Literally nothing alarming about the auction at all.
