Found this, debating to get it...what is a solid price for this...? all working, just needs a cap kit. It's close enough to me, just not sure what these usually go for and what a deal on it would be. Thanks guys

$300 is a fair deal on that cabinet, in my opinion, assuming it's fully functional.

It looks like the cabinet is in good condition except for some easily reparable damage on the side.

Is there an asking price, or for offer only? Even though $300 would be fair, I'd start at $250.

Also, these numbers assume local pickup.

You should be able to swap other Nintendo boards into that machine, as well, though I think Mario Bros is the best of the bunch.

Thats the widebody cab (Im not sure if all Mario Bros were in that cab) though I've never seen an orange one, only blue. I would gladly pay $300 for local pickup.

Any Nintendo classic pcb that uses a horizontal monitor should work.

i believe the orange cabinet is the original and the blue cabinet was conversion. I used to own a blue cabinet version... the monitor was on the way out so i unloaded it for $250. I kind of wish i would have kept this beast as it was, for lack of a better word, amazing.

It's not a "quick" thing to do, but it's possible to swap horizontal/vertical in the Nintendo cabs from what I've seen.

This is true.  The 19 inch monitors shouldn't be hard as I've rotated the one in my MIni Cute single handedly on more than one occasion.  Those 25+ monitors can be a bitch though.  Heavy SOBs.

I thought all of the Nintendo cabinets had the same 19" Sanyos.

Do the widebody cabs have the 19 too?  I honestly don't know.

It they all have 19s, and there are brackets for mounting the monitor vert/hori, it should be pretty easy to switch.

Yes, the widebody cabs have a 19" monitor in them. The only other easily accessible Nintendo pcb that I'm pretty sure you could just swap in would be Popeye. Everything else is either different wiring (i.e. PC-10 or Vs) or has a vertical monitor (i.e. DK, DK3, DKJr, etc). That cab is a Widebody cab (aka original dedicated Mario Bros) which you can tell in those pics by a couple things. The faces on the marquee are not cut off (which they are on the smaller conversions) and the pipe on the right side of the bezel is not cut off (which it is on the smaller conversions). If the pic was a bit lighter you would notice that the speaker is right in the middle of the area below the control panel as opposed to a conversion cab which has it off on the left. As long as the monitor is working I would pick that up for $300 in a heartbeat. I got mine for $200 and have at least another $100 into it fixing it up. Oh, and be sure to go to www.mikesarcade.com... and pick up the Mario Bros high score save/demo in freeplay kit. It'll run you right around $50 shipped but is well worth it (imo).
