Unfortunately, I've got no NES "Holy Grails," but if you don't mind, I'll post my Famicom Holy Grails, Nintendo prize disks:

Mine is one that may end up not being a Holy Grail, but for now, I'm happy to be the proud owner of it nonetheless!

I'd say my holy grail would be Cosmos Cop by Gluk Video. I love the artwork Gluk made for this cart!

That's exactly it. Gluk bought these games directly from NTDEC (aka Caltron) and slapped their own label on the original NTDEC label. I can see the original label under has ID# CN-09. Not all Gluk games have 2 labels. Only the 1st "batch" of games published by Gluk are like this.

Old aunts used to come up to me at weddings, poking me in the ribs and cackling, telling me, "You're next." They stopped after I started doing the same thing to them at funerals.

Mine's that Trolls proto, but I don't much care about protos, so I'm looking to trade it for something that would fill that grail spot for me. And I need to figure out a way to get that Big Nose and the Witch Doctor proto off Basil...

"It's always amazing to me how some of the most worthless games from a gaming perspective tend to fetch outrageous amounts of money. But then again, it could be said that something is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. I'm curious if the high bidder of the $873.04 Stadium Events (cart-only) realizes that it's nowhere nearly as rare as about 20+ games I can think of that sell for 1/10th that amount?  At any rate, I wanted to draw attention to this trend: if people say it's rare, it must be true, and therefore it must be had at any price."

Sadly, I have nothing to add to the holy grail list. How long did it take most of you to find your holy grail? I've only been collecting for about 6 months now. Sure, I've had some nice finds now and then, but nothing worth writing about...

Didn't take me long...I've been in the NES and Famicom scenes since May. Found my grails in August, I think. Good stuff is out there, if you're willing to pay for it. Sometime, though, the best grail is the one you find for cheap.

Mine was a fluke...guy thought he was ripped on it, so he traded it for fuck all. But to get an item of grail quality, well, that's another matter. Been collecting actively since '99 or so, and I just got this in August.
