Just a quick note that this is sadly not available through the German iTunes store.

From what I've read, international streaming is coming.  I think there are just layers and layers of beauracracy involved...

Mhmm... thought so.

I just wrote Adam Cornelius in the hope to get a screening here in Wiesbaden. If the movie is available via iTunes then it might be a bit more lucrative for the people to buy it afterwards.

The first big step for a screening, if you don't have access to a theater that works with Tugg, is to talk to your local theater owner about their interest and what it would take, on their end, to make it happen.

There is a downloadable press kit on the main web page.

If someone was going to get this, which is the way that gets the most money for the creators? Is there more profit from iTunes vs DVD vs whatever?

In order of profit:

(1) DVD from the main site
(2) probably streaming PURCHASE (not rental) from any of the services
(3) DVD from a 3rd party (amazon, best buy, etc)
(4) HD rental
(5) SD rental
(6) theater screening...

But we don't care how you watch it... we just want you to watch it!

The digital distribution is handled through a third party (FilmBuff) so all the streaming services work out roughly the same.

The main reason iTunes is important is for visibility.  (so strictly speaking, it's more important for somebody to rent it through iTunes in the immediate future than to buy a DVD, since it increases our odds of getting onto the front page of iTunes where non-geeks can find it)

PS to mods - if Robin/Adam/Vince decide this is somehow "trade secret" go ahead and nuke it.

Arch basically has it right. DVD from the main site is by far the most $$. If you want to rent it instead of buying, and already use iTunes, renting it from iTunes is a big help in terms of boosting our rank there. Buying from there is also huge for us as far as exposure in the long term. But of course if just want to rent it and see it on your Playstation or whatever you use by all means just go for it.

Confirmed to be on iTunes in Canada... so I am hoping it'd be available to you in Australia through the same.

I rented this on iTunes yesterday and really enjoyed it. I was surprised actually, as I really am not much of a gamer. It was just fun to see the different people, personalities, and approach to the game. I think I may end up buying this.

OK guys... if you haven't rented it yet, TODAY IS THE DAY!!!

We have cracked the Top 15 Documentaries on iTunes... with a big enough nudge we can get into the Top 10, which will give us visibility on the main page of the Top 200 movies.

I preordered the DVD, but went ahead and rented on iTunes as well. I really enjoy the film, and hope the others out there will hop on board and purchase it.
