I used to collect variants around 5-6 years ago when noone cared all that much about them...I sure as crap can't keep up though, so I abandoned it for the most part. Your article explained why pretty well

Great article man, but you missed THE impossible variant, The ACGI Wally Bear! I got to check it out at CCAG this last year. Pretty cool.

I think the common theme to his article was released games. Wally Bear in the ACGI cart is more alike a proto/sample cart than a "variant" in the traditional sense.

Believe it or not, I had considered putting that one in there, the AGCI Wally Bear.  That would've probably extended the article to nearly 1800-2000 words...to length territory into which I've never gone.
