And done. Quite neat! I still wonder what some of the parodies are, since from the ones I readily recognize it doesn't seem to be quite enough in my eyes to warrant the title of "Parody World."

And I'll ask as well. Any plans to do a repro still? The release of the ROM prior to the repro was definitely unexpected.

Thank you so much. This is amazing.

Will you guys still do a repro? Any plans on making a translated NES version?

Unless they've changed their plans (also don't quote me on this, I'm not any of the guys doing this), I'm pretty sure they're only doing Famicom repros (for now). Now that the ROM's out there, though, I wouldn't be surprised if someone makes a translation in the near future.

Yeah it does seem to be harder than I remember the NES release being. I just abused save states to play through it, in no small part because I can't play for crap with a keyboard.

I found it interesting that the fried trio was just the shrimp in this, and that the "chameleon" boss (the one in the maze) seems unfinished. It also seems like the tower level only has 2 bosses here, which helps to explain the key losing glitch in that stage in the US release.

I hope this doesn't mean you changed your plans for a repro... going to try it now, anyway!

I hope the same.

Either way, thanks a lot for your generosity and contributions to the NES scene Nolan dudes!  I know that preservation and releases of these things can be pretty thankless, especially after a few months, but I'm glad to see you guys still dumping and releasing, after all of these years.

What a great gift that is! I never thought I'd see this one released!
You guys are truly incredible!

Playing this through to the end and comparing all the differences to the US version is gonna be a lot of fun!

One thing I really like about this Prototype is that the pills that turn you into Bert are not random, they always spawn from the same enemies.
Makes beating the bosses much easier, you just have to remember where the pills are located.

It also allows for some health farming spots since the powerups seem to regenerate a few times. Using empty rooms can help with making enemies regnerate as well.

I just noticed that this trick works in the US release as well.
I always thought the powerup spawns were random, I guess it's been a while since I last played it...

Does the boss in the haunted house maze have any dialogue? I don't think I saw any when I fought it, nor did its attack pattern seem in any way interesting. I wonder if it was an unfinished boss in this. I also wonder if the same team handled the de-parodying process or if it was done by another group.

Still not sure why the Medusa boss, the mummy boss, the tall robot boss from the tower stage, or the little Dracula-looking enemies from the cave stage were changed. They all seemed rather generic to me, maybe I'm missing something though?

Wait, I thought it was getting a cart release?
I appreciate this anyway. But please tell me there is still going to be a cart release of some kind? I would gladly give some money to buy a cart.
