I got a higher score this time around, but those damned 10 hits to kill orcs. Not to mention the torch that appears as you're trying to climb down that tiny room with the orc in it in Level 2. Check my previous post for update.

Edit:  I got a new score, even higher than my old one!  Check previous post.  Can anyone tell me where the extra life is in stage 2, please?

Right at the beginning of the stage.
Make your way to the upper part of the stage, before the fire breathing plant. You will see a platform to your left. Jump on it, and then at around 3/4ths to the left of it, jump forward. You will see the life spawn and you will land right back at where you started the stage.
I will take a picture later.

No need for a pic, I figured it out. Thanks a lot, and here's to hoping that I break 100,000!

Still, someone else might not, so here's the picture.

Also,

No need to go past stage 1 to break 100,000.

I take it you were pretty lucky with the Kings dropping out, and farmed (and died deliberately) a lot in the first half, since the Zombies are easier to kill in addition to giving you more points. That's my theory, anyway.

There's a king at stage 1, and 4 gravestones with mages that give 2,000 points each. 18,000 points per life just there.
Then it's all about farming the zombies. When I am playing for points, I never leave the first half of stage 1 with more than my last life left.

Huh, first time I hear about the Mages, Imma try that out. And the Kings are predetermined, or are they random? Cause I remember getting 2 Kings in the first half of level 1, so it could all be luck.

It's on a predetermined spot. You can always spawn it at that point with the same action.

Hmm, I see. I feel like a cheater for doing what you've been doing, and I already broke 100k, but I decided against it. Thanks for the tip, though.

I am curious about it too. I will likely give it another run tonight or tomorrow, as there's room for improvement on my score.
I can't let a boy get this one easily.

I updated my score by a great bit, but it feels like cheating since I've been told the tricks of the trade. Plus, I fell it could get a little higher, maybe break 200k. Check my previous post.

Well done on the new score.
And you shouldn't feel like a cheater. I told the best way for farming stage 1 publicly here so there could be some nice competition.

Thanks Bea, I appreciate it . And I found where the constant King is. When you come across the two level hill in stage one, where you see the attacking flower, kill it. Then jump on the tombstone (the same kind that spawn mages when hit) that was infront of it, and from there, jump left. A vase will drop, revealing a King.

Well this is my best so far. I've never played this before until today (Played Super GnG a tiny bit), though I'm aware of how hard it is. I may try and beat it tomorrow.

I had some time today, so thought I would get a participation point. At least I snagged some yashichi.

I hadn't played this since I rented it one weekend in 5th grade. Maybe someday I will devote the time necessary to get through it, but it's a real dick move to force you to go through the entire game again to get the good ending.

From what I played, I think the dagger is great. I like fast weapons!

Nicely done, Bea.

You've officially sapped my will to go back and update mine to 500k.

Awesome scores! I haven't even had a chance to play this one yet, and won't, been working too much, and have to work again today, and this game takes too long to really do good with it and I've never played it for score so I would've needed a lot of time to get in something worthy. Will just have to try this one another time, outside of the contest, certainly makes me want to play it again since its been quite some years since I last beat it.

I've never really seriously played this game but it has been a lot of fun so far. I reach a glass ceiling at level 2 because the ladder part is too hard. I am going to try to top this later but for now here is my score, sorry for the shitty pic:
