Hey guys! I found some odd Atari 400/800 cartridges at the flea market today in a random box. What are these? I'm not as familiar with Atari 400/800 stuff. They look very interesting! I've posted on AtariAge, and AtariMania. I'm hoping to get a response from them! Would anyone here know anything about what these might be? The only information I got looking my self was this: http://www.atarimania.com/game-at...

Since it's listed as prototype only in the AtariMania database I assume I stumbled across some prototype Atari 400/800 stuff. Also I found other carts in the same lot that were also mentioned in the AtariMania link above. Does anyone have an idea how to open them so I can check out the boards?

At the moment I have no idea what the missing-label games are. I'll try them out tomorrow when I get home!

Thanks guys! -Danny

these are almost certainly boards from best electronics that bought out all of atari's stock and sold their stuff online (and still do).

letter tutor was/is sold on their site for 15 bucks. i believe they would just send the board and people would frankenstein an old shell and make their own label.

so... not so much prototypes, but actual unreleased games that were finished but never produced.

EDIT -  that makes no sense.

they were produced, but never released.

Thank you! Awesome to know this now.

Should I bother attempting to open them and check the insides then? I'll test the blank games tomorrow just so I know what they are.

Also any idea what they are worth? Can these still be ordered from that website? I will probably be keeping all these, as they appear to be a pretty cool find. =)

So you're trying to turn it around on me that you made a smart-ass comment in someone's thread without even reading what they had to say? If that makes you feel better.
