Hi folks.  Guess I should introduce myself.  My name is Howard.  My good friend rizz convinced me to get a NWC repro cart and join in on the competition.

I enjoy playing the old 80s games, though I'm not a collector.  Of the consoles I've owned, I'd definitely say I've had the most fun with the NES.  It's pretty cool to see there's still a lot of interest in it.

Famous last words I remember saying the exact same thing once upon a time.

Anyway, welcome to NA...

My mantra, as worded by SamSpade on 06/12/12:
I don't resell to fund my collection, I don't treat this hobby like a second job, I don't care if my collection is worth ten bucks or ten thousand because I never plan on selling it. Seriously, what does the value have to do with anything if you never plan on selling? Speculation doesn't mean jack shit to me at this point, I just want to play my nes games...

This is how it starts. You'll buy a few games that you liked when you were young then get some recommendations of games you should try out, aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand your hooked. I've seen it a hundred times *shakes head as he walks away*

But welcome! heh

<shameless plug>

If you happen to have any of the original black box games, check out the "Launch Day Octadecathlon" topic in The Arena as we're always looking for more players to compete. (That goes for the rest of you, too!)

And welcome to the best NES site in the known universe.

Welcome Aboard Dude! Yep you'll prolly get the collector bug sooner or later if you keep hanging around this board. Ive seen it happen a lot as well, just ask Penguin, i referred him in here and he was just a (buya few nes games collector) NOW hes got a few hundred games in a few months since he joined including Bubble Bath Babes ($700.00 Game)!!! LOL.

As for Awesome NES titles that dont get heard of much check out>>

Little Samson
Bonks Adventure
Flintstones surprse at Dinosaur Peak
Adventure Island 2
Dragon Fighter
Cabal
North and South
Dusty Diamonds All Star Softball

Now if you end up going and getting all those you will definetly be a collector LOL. Plus they are VERY VERY Fun games to play, some of my Favs for the NES System Aside from all the usuals like marios, zeldas, castelvanias, contra metroid, etc. Which are all Excellent Too. Anyways Welcome Dude the NES Rules!

.... and damn broke!

Those are definitely super fun games as parpunk said, but a few of them can be pricey -- keep your eyes peeled here and you may find some good deals from other collectors.

Welcome! Yea once you start collecting it gets addictive but man do I love it! I first started with just carts then I got into boxes and manuals also, that's where it gets expensive. Don't forget to check out the Mega Man series for NES, 1-6, some of the best games!

Looking for Black cartridge Color Dreams games, last 3 I need:  Metal Fighter, Moon Ranger, Baby Boomer.  Please contact me if you have any of these!

Welcome, Choppy.  hehe

By the way everybody, Howard is building a very cool arcade cabinet which will house a computer for playing a bunch of classic NES games (as well as others).  I've been getting some great pictures of the progress, and hopefully he'll post some when it's done.
