Hello and welcome to the tenth and final round of the second Sega Master System Weekly Contest!  This week's game is Power Strike.  Developed by Compile, this is the first game in the Aleste series.  Your planet has been overrun by the meanest mutant vegetation ever created in a genetics laboratory.  It's taken over buildings, labs, fighter craft...even people!  And it's getting bigger...and meaner...with each passing second.  But it hasn't taken over you.  Now, you're going in on a mission to deliver a POWER STRIKE!

Bump for anyone that missed this thread. Fun game especially if you like Zanac; has a very much similar feel. I know there's a few shmup fans here, perhaps give the ol' SMS a try! I'll see if I can improve my score tonight.

Gave it a quick go this morning, improved my score a bit.  Contest or not I'm probably going to try and beat this one eventually.  Hope more people can come try!

That's it for this year's Sega Master System weekly contest! The leaderboard has been updated and it should be no surprise that Yoshi, the only regular participant, took the top spot. Participation was much lower this year, but hopefully those who joined in had fun and discovered a new game or two they enjoyed.

Thanks for hosting the contest Red! I had a great time and I love discovering more games in the Master System library.
