Hey everyone.
I know that there aren't very many people who are into Animal Crossing collecting, but I am.
Animal Crossing merchandise can be very difficult to find information on. There aren't any websites that have complete lists of AC merchandise. I am going to begin compiling all of the merchandise that I can find, writing small summaries them, and including pictures if possible. If anybody would like to help, that would be awesome!
Again, not expecting a huge turnout, but I thought I'd try.
Thanks

1) We love our niche/single franchise collectors here. Don't apologize. Own it.
2) Most 'official' lists for just about anything are just compiled by people with a passion. Several of these lists come from right here on Nintendoage.
3)If I come across any AC merch I know who to contact. I know who is keeping track of it. Good on you.

Ah, thanks man! Also, I'm having trouble deciding how I'm going to keep track of it. Any easy websites I could use to compile all of this stuff that you know of? I'm just throwing stuff on a google doc for now, but that's pretty ugly.

I have no idea man. Some kind of database program that lets you easily add and manipulate pictures.

It's actually kinda important that people/fans keep track of stuff. You know? Manufacturers can't even be counted on to keep records of stuff.

Here's a small fact to put this into perspective: Neither Nintendo, Tecmo, or any magazine or newspaper or person in the entire world knows the exact date that Ninja Gaiden came out. Gaming history is easily lost when nobody takes initiative to document stuff.

Really? That's pretty crazy. How would something like that never get recorded? lol
But yeah, there are pieces of merchandise that I have only seen one picture of. So that should be fun trying to track them down. Thanks for the words of encouragement, though! Time to get to work!

You can dedicate a single topic like the one you started here to create a list. Nice feature to have with the list would be pictures. Create a photobucket to host the pictures and use the list to link the 2. Have created a few list here on NA for multiple misc collections. You may want to focus in on something less broad and maybe do Nintendo licensed products?

This auction just ended. Can't believe I missed it. I've never seen one of these before, didn't even know they existed. I wonder who got it

Well I will say that I am an animal crossing fan(its the only nintendo franchise i try to keep up with these days) and I do web development. So depending on how you think you might want to create the architecture for this database maybe I could help.
Some AC things that I own are a real faded AC Shirt from nintendo power when they were offering that with a subscription, a vinyl promo display sign for the GC game, a talking Stitches plushie from Wild World, and a Tom Nook screen cleaner are the things that come to mind. Feel free to pm me

I was thinking about doing something similar with Harvest Moon / Marvelous / XSeed stuff.

Best of luck
