My Wii turns on, but no video or audio comes out. It seems to play games still (I put a Wii game in and heard it read the disc)? I checked on two different tv's, I changed the AV cord for another I know works...still no picture or sound. It also takes about 15 seconds of me holding the power button for it to turn off.

It was working fine last time I used it..which was about a month ago? I bought it used, never modded it (but idk if someone before me did). Is it "bricked"?

Also I tried holding reset for 5 seconds and 10 seconds...nothing changed.

Did you change the video input on your tv? I know it sounds silly but some people miss it

On one tv yes only to test all of the outputs (it's a new tv so I'm not used to it yet) but I put it back to the output that should work. Also the other tv is always on the video output so it should have worked on the other.

It does seem like it gets a signal? I plugged it into my newer tv and it popped up with a video input but when I unplug it, it says no input. The other tv also shows when I turn on the Wii to have a "lighter" shade of black. idk if that makes sense.

Obviously I can't send it back to Nintendo...it's used and old so what else can I do? I've searched online but everything points to it being busted and it needs to be sent to Nintendo to fix...does Gamestop fix Wii's? Or is this an easy enough fix I could do it? As in nothing more complicated then what a 5 year old could do.

If you are sure you have the right input selected, the wii might have an issue. I wouldn't try and pay anyone to "fix it" probably end up costing you more than finding a random one on kijiji or Craig's list or ebay. So many people have these in their closets and they sell pretty cheap

It's the red edition one...try finding someone selling that one for cheap.

It could be the Wii is set to progressive scan and your TV doesn't support it. Or yes it could be bricked. Some time ago it was possible to buy a SaveMii adapter that plugged into the GC memory card port (B I think), which could re-write the NAND.

And I bought mine for $38...so I stand by what I said, find one that cheap. I don't want to buy a Wii for $50...everyone has one, you can find them everywhere...the price just needs to drop. I'll buy it when it hits the $30 - $40 range..if it hits it.

I guess till then I'll "borrow" my moms.

Are bricked Wii's worth anything? I could sell it on ebay..

A bad bluetooth module could be your problem,if one is bad you will get no video/audio.

Also another thing would be to simply hook up your wii using composite cables to see if that fixes your problem.

Bluetooth module? Is that an easy fix?

Also composite cables...the red, yellow and white ones right? That's the av cables I was using.

I sold a broken red wii console only for $25 shipped and I shipped it in a flat rate padded envelope for $5

So that is an option. If you want a working white wii for a fair price shoot me a pm it isn't red but it will work and be fairly inexpensive

I would use a component cable and use a different power outlet. You might have it plugged into a bad outlet?

No..I switched to another room for my other tv so both outlets would need to be toast and they arn't...It has to be the Wii sadly

@pats1717 Ah...so they do sell on ebay..might just have to do that if I can't fix it. And no thanks...my moms is a normal white Wii..she never uses it so it can hold me over till I find or fix the red one...

Just tried it and no go. Also left the Wii unplugged for the whole night (and most of the day) along with the power cord unplugged from the strip to let them "cool" off (they wern't hot or warm) to see if that worked...didn't. I figured it wouldn't since they wern't even warm to the touch...but I read it somewhere so I thought I'd try it.

You would have to open the wii and simply replace the bluetooth module.
