Kid Niki is my favorite non-mainstream NES game. I love it, and until about a mont ago had never finished it. I was always stuck on the old dude...F-F-F-F-F-F-F-FFFFOOOOOOLLLLL!!! Ugh....I hate that dude.

Hahahaha, Kid Niki is definately a great game. That old man makes me laugh every time. Plus the music is insanely catchy without being annoying (at least in my opinion). I had a ton of fun with that one when I beat it a while back.

I second Jaws. It was one of the first games I got with the NES and I still love it. I've mentioned this in another thread, but the death scene alone is worth playing. Might just be my morbid self, though.

Ninja Kid is a blast! Having a lot of fun playing it right now for this week's contest. I've never really heard much about it until now, although the overworld map screen reminded me that a friend of mine had this game when we were kids. Anyway, awesome game - check it out. Watch out for the one hits deaths though!

just to mention, ive always wanted jaws when i was a kid and still havent. I dont think i will allow myself to buy it because after 15 + years my mind has already built this game up so much in my head that it will def not come to my expectations. so jaws is by far the best game still never invented.

Stinger - fun and unique shmup with excellent music.
Super Spike V'Ball - great arcade-style vball game from Technos. Very fun.

I never hear much about stinger, from a gameplay perspective, but really enjoyed it

Damn, you must have read my mind or something, I was browsing through ebay saw a cart for sale, and thought man this label looks sexy, I wonder if Cabal is any good...

Its a shooter type game, and you move a target cursor around, shooting with the A or B button. Its pretty sweet! You have a damage meter, and when its maxed out, you move on to a different area. Theres plenty of on screen action, and its alot of fun! The target cursor can become a little cumbersome to use, but you get used to it. It may have been a good light gun game, but there would be a ton of trigger pulling lol. It would likely break the Zapper lol.

Funny you should mention how sweet the label is. My copy of Cabal is one of my worst condition games. The label is completely missing except for the crud underneath where someone wrote "Cabal" in really sloppy letters.

Lol mine is in crappy shape too! Its my only one that is physically damaged, and there is about a 3 inch chunk missing from it lol. My label is fine though. Its broken along the bottom, but plays just fine!

Metal Storm - Awesome and innovative gravity mechanics
Shatterhand - Amazing graphics and music. I especially love the music and graphics of the industrial level (grey sky, there are 3 separate scrolling layers which is rare for a NES game)

Vegas Dream. The games are limited, but the experience of the game was great. Random people walk up to you while playing and challenge you to special games, borrow money, or even get married. You get told via the local newscast whether you're decision was a good one or not. Hilarious.

Hydlide, Street Fighter 2010, Contra Force, Bandit Kings of Ancient China, Nightmare on Elm St, Mighty Bomb Jack, Spider-Man Return of the Sinister Six, Destiny of an Emperor, Adventures in the Magic Kingdom, Renegade, hell even Hudson Hawk are all so underrated. Love those games.

Just played Punisher for the first time today, after picking up a copy local, this game rocks. I hope the whole game is fun, and there aren't any let-downs. Also hope Cabal is just as good as this.
