In any case, a big thanks to Mog for pushing me to the limit. That's hardcore competition.

Aww you dick. I had a feeling you might post a low one.  Nice job dude.

Thanks, that's really appreciated.

That was a ROUGH job to beat ya. I think I played 5 hours today to get this score. But I'm confident I could redo it in much less time. With concentration, all enemies are beatable using the proper battling tactics.

Damn... lost track of time and didn't submit this week. It's probably for the best though as a really suck at this game and couldn't beat the dark side.

there you go. here is my updated score.

This game is frustrating. Why does the dark side always get more life/take more hits to kill. I have a stronger character but it takes me 3 shots to kill a stupid ass goblin when he hits me once and i die. I always start off so kick ass and fall apart. I just dont get it. Also i imprisoned that morphing character of his and 3 moves later he was free. But when i get imprisoned i never can get out of it.

Imprisoning is a waste of a move. You don't need it. You take less/more hits depending on the color of the square you step on, that's why they're always changing. It provides an extra level of challenge and strategy. Lighter-colored squares give you full power, darker less. And it's quite possible to destroy even the most powerful of enemies with a simple knight. You just have to be good enough to do it.

Yeah, the mimic is annoying, the trick is to kill it with the unicorn or a knight. I use the unicorn. It tends to stay back as the unicorn over on the right, so you have to shoot very quickly at it, duck down, repeat. Down in no time. And then, usually, the dark side will waste a turn reviving the mimic, so if you take out the dragon with the unicorn like I do it's all over after that.

A good 40% of the game is learning how to play the battle scenes. You can't just go into it button mashing. It's about working angles and playing the field to win.

So Stan, do you still wanna know how to really kill this game and beat the dark army in 20ish turns?

The amount of space the computer leaves between you and him is dependent on the computer character. The slower ones like the manticore and troll will get very close to you. The basilist (snake guy) moves very fast and will stays far away.  Same goes for mimic-unicorn.

This is so you can avoid their attacks if you stay in a "safe zone". If the basilist got any closer, you would have a very little chance of avoiding his shots unless you got real lucky.  Same goes for the slow guys, if they did not get close, they would have no chance of beating you as you can easily avoid their slow shots.

Yes sir.  Please explain how you did it.  I still can't seem to figure out what you did.  My tactic only gets me so low.

You need to attract enemy's troops to attack you. The best way to achieve it is to attack them on dark spaces. You need to battle almost exclusively on dark spaces to maximize your chances to get attacked. Then, the hardest part, don't lose any battle.

Personally, my strategy was something like:

Teleport Valkyrie on manticore
Defend
Attack Troll with Valkyrie
Defend
(At this point, it is best if their Sorcerer has not summoned element on me = losing a turn)

Attack Sorcerer with Valkyrie
(Yes, I use the Valkyrie. I don't know if it's personal, but I think they are easy to control. They shoot relatively fast, and they're good to avoid enemy's attacks. Also, they make the battle against the Shape Shifter easier than against a dark Unicorn or Djinni.)

Defend

(From now on, I want to let the Valkyrie on the Sorcerer spot. The enemy usually wants to retake position of that spot, so if you leave it free, he will likely not attack you and move on the sorcerer's spot.)

Summoned elemental on a Basilisk
(Kill one of those bastard while they're still on white spot. My preference.)

Defend (with Valkyrie)

Move Djinni at mid-action range

Defend (with Valkyrie)

Attack Manticore with Djinni

The rest of my strategy can be resumed like this.

Trying to attack harder character with Djinni, and defending mostly goblin's attack with the Valkyrie on Sorcerer's spot. At some point, goblins might stop attacking the Valkyrie or the Djinni, so it
is time to just get them with the nearest skilled character.

Hmmm, not much different from what I did. If you used my tactic you'd probably win faster. That one part is where I could have improved. I didn't even think about the computer's insistance on remaining on dark spaces. That explains why it wouldn't attack me at times and a turn or two would be lost. I usually teleported the unicorn to the basilisk on the top. Killed. Move down to mimic. Killed. Kill sorceress and boom, done. If you do that you might be able to get a 0 after all.

The flying skill is very convenient when you try to move on to dark spaces only, especially in the beginning when every enemies are jammed together.

Oh yeah, damn, that decreased my score drastically. I can't believe I never even thought of working how the COMPUTER played. Now I can beat Mog and the tally will shift in my favor!

Either way, the tally will turn eventually until you beat me after I beat you. This is not about the contest, it is about the war...
