There were a bunch sold on eBay in the last couple months
- without the monster was like $110-$150 there were a few
- with the monster was $384 and only one sale

I'm not sure if it matters what monster is inside since there was only one with the monster I saw.

I meant color of the monster price charting has a few from 2018 that had the monster too but the sales were for much less money around $200-$250. There was one outlier at 399 and the monster was pink although all the pictures I'm seeing the monster is pink. What color is your monster?

Personally auction start at $249.99 and BIN at $449.99

edit: updated price based on monster color rarity

It would be worth your while to do a forum search on this topic.

I remember, awhile back, there being a discussion about the different monster colors and their desirability to collectors.
(which overlaps with the MIMP collecting community separate from NES collecting)

I vaguely recall there being four different colors (blue, orange, pink, green).

Now that's interesting, I didn't even see an auction end with a blue one, only pink.

There is mentions in this link on the rarety of each color by another member here:

http://nintendoage.com/forum/mess...

As for value I can't really be sure as there is no data that I can find to support asking more money for it based on the monster color. A more senior member may have a better idea of that.

edit: doing detective work for NES stuff is way too much fun lol. People were saying the loose monsters alone were selling for 90-110 but that was almost 7 years ago. MIMP May have taken the Beanie Baby route and died since.

Yeah, definitely those four colors, and I think one color was more sought after. I want to say green.

At the time I think it was green -- to the tune of the figure being maybe 4x-5x as valuable as the others (to MIMP collectors, specifically).

There was a considerably older thread about this, because I remember Jonebone being in it, and i don't see him in the thread you linked.

Also, at the time, I think the most desireable color went for as much as $250 for just the figurine.

And I seriously doubt MIMP has gone the Beanie Baby route.
(it is a more durable toy brand like Battle Beasts)

Yeah I sort of remember that there was some disagreement as to whether the green one (if that's the color) actually existed.

I don't think I would have a BIN that low on this one.   That monster is a bitch to find.

I said that before I knew the color so yeah don't take that advice! A green one by itself recently sold on eBay for $267 by itself, but it doesn't help me determine the value of the blue one. Anyone else finding any recent data?

Looks like back in 2009 was when Dane was asking for a pic to confirm the existence of the green one.

http://nintendoage.com/forum/messageview.cfm?catid=3&thr...

From 2010, a discussion about the figure (any color) being highly desireable to MIMP collectors, since it was only released with the NES game:
http://nintendoage.com/forum/messageview.cfm?catid=5&thr...

From 2014, a European member says they had picked up a green one for $90 (also has pics of all 4)
http://nintendoage.com/forum/messageview.cfm?catid=29&th...

As recently as 2015, the figures were tending to be $150 range

There is another green one currently listed BIN for $250:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/Monster-In-My-Pocket-Series-3-Blemm...

EDIT:  and in terms of selling, I am suspicious that you do "best" by properly listing a high BIN figure and then selling the rest of the game/contents separately.
(since the MIMP collectors don't care as much about the game as they do about the mini, and vice versa)

Makes me think the blue one may even be more rare than the green lol

Well, from the forum link you found pink, blue, and green all look pretty comparable with orange clearly being more common.

But those population numbers are from a long time ago.

The best answer you will find is probably on an actual MIMP collector forum.
If you do that legwork, please report back and let us know!

Sorry didn't read whe thread but yes color of monster matters on pricing. I bought mine a few years ago here and was told a different color monster was inside than what actually was. I remember being a significant price difference but don't remember the colors off top of my head.

I've been watching these for the last year or two and would say the value of a decent quality CIB without Blemmyae is $100-150. The Blemmyae figure seems to have a huge value range ($200-400) and I'm not sure it really depends on the color. It seems likely they were all made in the same proportion.

Personally, I'm still looking for a blue monster, but have the other three. There was a long period of time where no figures were available on eBay, but right now there is a green (way overpriced at $624.12 with CIB game) and a pink (auction at $290; relisted after not selling at $300).

Bottom line: I need a blue Blemmyae and prices are highly variable.

wow, have these gone up in price....
i'm the person from 1 of those threads who got the green one somewhere in 2013 from a US Ebay member,
i paid around 120? US Dollars including shipping to my country.
because at that point, only like 1 of these would show up every month or so...
with prices ranging from roughly 90 to 120 US Dollars. and those were all BIN's.
sadly, most of them did not ship outside of the USA.

for those who do not want to read the other threads:

- there are 4 different color versions
- they were put in the boxes at random (monster and smaller styrofoam at top of the box)
- color wise, orange is the most common.
- blue, pink & green are less common, but are on the same rarity scale to each other.
so none of the color versions is actually more rare than the other.

Collection as of april 29th 2018

- NES NIB/CIB Games Total: 28
- NES Loose Carts Total: 139/366 (incl. label differences)
- NES Manuals Total: 66
- Game Boy Loose Carts Total: 27
