I just posted about this over in the $3 off on eBay post someone made, but back about a year ago, my local Salvation Army had a new donations stack and in there were a bunch of DS game/cases without games. They toss them so they let me have them. Well, using the $3 offer, I picked up the cart for $6.99 shipped and, with the promo, it was $3.99. I know it's not much but since I actually wanted to play this game as a Star Fox fan, I've been hopeful I'd find a cheap, loose cart in good shape.

It's definitely a small win, but it felt nice to complete this goal. I'd considered tossing the case and just buying a CIB copy for $8-10 multiple times.

Goodwill had a bunch of PS2/Xbox games including a "sealed" Chulip (PS2). It was resealed but still had the Five Below price tag on it. The shrink wrap was intact but beat and you could tell the plastic on the case was a bit warped. I went ahead and unwrapped it and everything inside is minty fresh. Also picked up a new black label copy of Killzone (PS2), Full Metal Alchemist 2 (PS2) complete with DVD, and Intellivision Lives (DS) complete. All for $2.99 each.

Got a bundle of GB games in the mail, some of them were taped together:

NOOOOO

Oh phew, I guess that's ok. The tape came right off. One of the games is a FAH Killer Instinct, with apparently something rectangular underneath the seemingly-unmolested label:

So that's weird.

Snatched this within a couple minutes of it being listed. No proof it's legit, but it seems that way. Very psyched!

Randomly stopped in a goodwill yesterday and they had two GBC games loose -- Tony Hawk and an unknown one with only a smidge of label left.

Asking price was $4.99 and all I could ascertain for sure is that it was a GBC game and it had a battery inside. Since it was only $5 and I like a surprise so I took a chance on it. This was against my better judgement as it was sitting next to THPS... and I was really betting that it was a Rugrats game or something.

I was very pleased to have it power on and be Dragon Warrior III with working saves. I can't say I "wanted" this game, but I'll give it an honest run for sure.

Just received a dusty old virtual boy lot from Ebay that was listed ad for parts/not working. Seller said displays were out in a private message. Received it and it's working fine at the moment. $83 all in and it came with a good condition stand, controller, Mario tennis and AC adapter so I'm not complaining.

I had a couple of decent pick-ups from my local Savers over the past week, so I combined them together for a group photo. I paid about $50 in total for everything in the picture.

My son... gives me Helpful Nintendo Hints that are far too complex for the adult mind to comprehend. Here's a verbatim example: "OK, there's Ganon and miniature Ganon and there's these things like jelly beans and the miniature Ganon is more powerfuller, because when you touch him the flying eagles come down and the octopus shoots red rocks and the swamp takes longer." And the hell of it is, I know he's right. - Dave Barry

I picked up this Sega controller for $6.45 instead of the $10.00 they originally wanted.
