I asked the seller about the board having chips and he replied with this:
"Everybody wanted the ones with chips, but we didn't advertise it as the company had an attorney email us early on, looking to see if they did, and threatening us if they did. Selling prototypes can bring really bad trouble. We used to get a lot of this stuff in, and the owners ordered most of it destroyed in our shredders. Probably three of the boards had chips. What did you think, did you like it?"
Of course I liked it, but I was planning on using it for dev purposes. Since there was "a company," I'm assuming it was only Disney that these prototypes belonged to.
