1-      [edit, can't do multicatrs] Final fantasy would pass the time.

2-      Hotslot (Some female companionship is nessesary when you're alone on an island)

3-      Battletoads. If I play it long enough I might actually beat it.

- Legend of Zelda is a must.  Nice long game, and 2 totally different quests will keep you from going nuts on that island

- Donkey Kong Classics a good one too since the replay value will never die.  It's technically a multi cart I guess, but I say it counts anyway.  Two games in one!

- Ice Hockey would be perfect.  It'll keep your mind off the hotness of the island and you can get a lot of mileage using different teams and skaters for your roster.  You could even get creative and do an entire season with stats and a playoff tournament

Well that would be suitable wouldn't it?
Though, I'd be afraid that the frustration and impossibility factor of 8-2 would drive me to suicide before I got rescued

Yeah, dude, I've no-death'd the game up to 8-2 but that stage always gets me. 8-3 is cake afterwards, and providing you don't loose your axe prior to 8-4, the last level is cake too. Only one damn level is stopping me from no-deathing a game that most people consider impossible to beat as it is.

-------------------------

My mantra, as worded by SamSpade on 06/12/12:
I don't resell to fund my collection, I don't treat this hobby like a second job, I don't care if my collection is worth ten bucks or ten thousand because I never plan on selling it. Seriously, what does the value have to do with anything if you never plan on selling? Speculation doesn't mean jack shit to me at this point, I just want to play my nes games...

Now that's crazy.  Hats off man, seriously.  We're talking about a game with one hit deaths and that fruit-driven count down always threatening you also.
Personally I think no-deathing anything is worthy of back pats.  My only notable no-death was Legend of Zelda, and even then I had to use the trick to save my progress in between.

Everyone knows that deserted islands have long lost buried pirate treasure, so I would take:

Treasure Island Dizzy (Quattro Adventure),
Trolls on Treasure Island,
Treasure Master,

for inspiration then go find that booty!

I'd turn the tv and generator in to a spot light and flag for help.
