Hi my friends,

I was wondering how much do you think a Ducktales Remastered Press Kit would cost? Just 150 units worldwide and Capcom are just giving away some in a couple of contest.

I don´t know if the press kit they are giving as reward are part of the 150 limited units or reprints.

How much do you think one of this would cost?

Probably the price will increase dramatically with years to come.

Regards!!

Someone in Nintendoage has win a copy yet?

I'd throw $500 at it if I was still collecting. I'm sure other people would go twice and thrice above that.

Yeah I was thinking it would be about 1500. That's what a lot of people have said they'd be willing to spend so that is at least a somewhat safe low end for it.

It'd pay $200. No more than that.

I have been discussing this topic with some others NES collectors. Because strictly speaking this would be a licensed game, not?. Then it would be the licensed game with fewer copies available (rarest NES game variant?) only 150 versus stadium events as I read that estimates range above that number.

What you guys think about it?

In no way would I consider this a new official release. Its not a new game, just a recycled customized one. This is not going on my list, and I would not actively seek it.

1500?!?!

Way too much IMHO. What do the Megaman press kits sell for?

I'd say a couple hundred is reasonable. I consider this a grail of reproduction collectors as it has the backing of a major game company, but it was made by timewalk. Definitely not part of any official list that's for sure.

Open auction, the first one breaks $1k easily. I don't even want one and I'd be good for at least $750.

Are there any other official games which were just other games in a different cartridge? Other variants which are official?

Mega Man press kit on Ebay is close to 500.

The difference is Mega Man press kit was also available for sell in capcom web store and is a NES plastic game case with a mini CD on it with art and screenshots. Ducktales is actually the NES game never sold on the Capcom web page and only 150 copies (I don´t know how many Megaman copies were made).

I got some gold paint and photo paper. Just saying.
I don't see myself paying crazy amounts for a customized game that isn't new or anything...

In total agreement. You ask what it would cost. There's been several people in this thread say they wouldn't pay over a couple hundred but they also are not the ones that would most likely be bidding on one if it shows up @ open auction. If one of these goes up on eBay its going to get crazy.

This entire thread is just speculation, there's no data to back it up. People claim to be willing to pay $1k+ but you just have to see if people are willing to put money where their mouth is. Sometimes they are, sometimes they aren't.

It's a price check thread concerning an item that has never had a public sale.  We have no choice but to speculate.

What would you value it at?

I am pretty sure if a open auction appears on Ebay would be over $ 1 K USD. Well is a matter of time we see one of this on Ebay and speculation becomes real.

This is going to be one of those, first few sell for a ton, but thats it. After the hype is gone, it'll settle significantly less than its first few sales.

That's what I thought about the Megaman Press Kits. Sold my sealed one with original shipping box for only like $300. I've learned not to underestimate this modern stuff.

Absolutely not.  It's a repro.  I wouldn't even consider it a variant.

Same exact thing with the CMII repro that was made recently.

I don't even understand the logic that would go into trying to say this was a legit release. It's a legitimatized bootleg sanctioned by the old publisher and developer, but it's not new it's not re-licensed by Nintendo or the rest of it. It just is what it is.
