I just read that in May, a 12 DVD set of every episode of the Beetlejuice cartoon is coming out and I am pumped as shit cuz I loved me some Beetlejuice. Let's celebrate this occasion by talking about our favourite cartoons growing up!

For me it was all about Ninja Turtles and Real Ghostbusters. I actually bought the complete series of each show last year and they both hold up really well. Then as I got older I loved all the Spielberg shows like Tiny, Toons Animaniacs and Freakazoid.

What about everyone else?

Saturday morning was the shit when I was a kid. TMNT, Ghostbusters, X-Men, you name it. I still love and watch Captain N and the SMB Super Show, too, especially the Zelda cartoon. Don't hate - you know you loved the Zelda cartoon.

I remember like Ninja Turtles & X-Men the best. Also He-Man & Thundercats were pretty cool, but I don't remember them so well since I think I was pretty young when they first came out? Turtles was when I really became a man though. The cartoon, the toys, the games; I couldn't get enough. As it turns out, no kid of my generation could.

X-Men. Hands down the best Saturday morning cartoon of all time.

Loved Battletech, too, but only woke up early enough to watch it once or twice...

It was Ducktales, Talespin, Chip 'n Dale, Darkwing Duck, Bonkers... all I can think of right now. Much of my childhood, we lived 10 miles from town and had like 3 channels.

SMB Super Show and Zelda were weekday afternoon shows where I lived.  SMB 4 days per week and Zelda on Friday.

Super Mario World came on before XMen, though, on Saturday morning.

Evidently one of those channels was Disney... I remember "Disney month" being a HUGE deal as a kid, when the paid Disney channel was free for a month each year.  My dad would record EVERYTHING for us to watch later.

Man, it is so ridiculous to think back that people were willing to pay for Disney as a premium channel, though

We didn't have many channels, and the toons didn't really seem to be centered around sat. morning on our channels.
I often watched the Racoons and Robotech. He-Man as well, but not as regularly. Every Sunday there was a disney hour (or 2?) that usually had a movie or something decent on..
Then after that was that road to avonlee crap.

For Saturday morning it was Saint Seiya hands down, that cartoon was huge in Mexico, I remember during the time it aired I was playing little league baseball and the games were on Saturday, nobody ever showed up at 9-10 AM because the cartoon was airing!

Matt and I were much more invested in The Real Ghostbusters than we were the NES growing up (though it was a clear second).

As we got older and started collecting, I think we decided Video Games were more socially acceptable than action figures, so we went in that direction

Best cartoon ever, my girlfriend bought me the box set shaped like the firehouse a few years back fro Christmas.

A lot of the shows listed here weren't on on Saturdays by me. They were either on before school of after school. Stricly Saturday for me was ProStars, Captain Planet, Real Ghostbusters, Captain N, Muppet Babies, Bobby's World and then live action shows. I loved American Gladiators on Sunday mornings. And Saved by the Bell.
