So I was really bored and threw this together quickly, so pardon any quirks you may find. This is basically a darker style theme:

http://www.nintendoage.com/forum/...

To change back, use:

http://www.nintendoage.com/forum/...

Needs some tuning, but figured I'd post it in case anyone wants it. I'll add more themes next time I'm abnormally bored. I'm always open for user-submitted themes as well.

Note that this is currently unsupported on NA mobile.

Er...I don't like it. It makes it look too much like digitpress.com.

Extremely cool idea, and it'd be cool to see other themes, but the cleanliness and brightness of the current theme is my favorite...that's why I don't like DP's style.

I dunno, I kinda like it..

Dain, how about a SNES colored theme? Gray and Purple....

Because real men love PURPLE!!

Or just for NGD, how about a Orange and White theme?  UT style...

Looks like digitpress, but still pretty neat IMO. Darker shades are quite better for our eyes by the way.

I kinda like it. It'd be cool to have the option to switch between a few different themes at will. I get bored looking at the same thing all the time.

Those are some good ideas for themes -- I'll poke around and see what I can come up with. I think the reds were subconsciously a mix between NESWorld and DP since it didn't require much thought on my part to mimic them. I'll probably add a themes area on the user settings pages to allow you to switch at will.

One thing i notice in the darker theme is you cant see "no messages" by inbox, (black on black)

I will say, it's MUCH easier on the eyes than the current layout, although aesthetically I much prefer the current scheme. Looks an awful lot like NESwolrd (and a bit like DP) as others have mentioned. I love the idea of having choices though, let us know what you plan!

I'm partial to the original theme, but do think that tweaking it might work. just too dark for me with the black theme.

Herbalist, That's true, but when you have a message you can see new messages in there.

Easier on the eyes, but I'd like to still be able to see the colors and details of the Nintendo Age mascot.

Actually I take that back, after viewing it like this too long I come away from the site feeling like I've been looking into a Virtual Boy.

Hm...maybe a day/night sort of thing, perhaps...? During the day, it's one theme (the normal blue on white), but at night, it's another theme (red on black)... How it might work: the user selects one theme for day use and one theme for night use, then he/she sets a time (based on the NA clock) for the themes to change. Of course, there could also be a button or something similar to activate to make it only one theme all day long.

This idea, kinda based on NESWorld's "Good morning/afternoon/evening/night, (insert username here)."

I like it the way it is personally.

I find the darker themes seem a little depressing. That's why I don't like DP.

What about offering the various theme options to members as something they can change in their profiles?

I tried the darker theme, but set it back. Now every time I log on or open a new window, it goes back to the dark theme. Am I alone on this issue?

MRN, click on the default theme link on the topic of the page, if that doesn't work, clear browser cache.

FYI, the 'Chat' link in the upper bar is missing from the Dark theme. Not sure if this is intentional or not, but I thought I'd point it out.
