Just FYI but I noticed RetroUSB.com still has the old versions of scoreboard on the AVS page. (i.e. the Mac version that doesn't work)

EDIT: Aaand yeah, I see why. I'm having the same problem as the posters above. Also getting some weird gobbledygook in the scoreboard part of the AVS itself. (Only on the Mac though, Windows, on the same machine, is fine.)

From AVS 1.12b5

I got version 1.12 for Mac OS to work by changing the permissions on the Scoreboard app's directory in Application Support:

sudo chmod 700 ~/Library/Application Support/Scoreboard

For some reason, it was set to 000 (no permissions for anybody) by default.

You can know for sure whether you're having this issue by enabling the app's logs in View -> Show / Hide Log and looking for messages indicating permission errors.

I was using an Everdrive with os13 and one of the custom 024 mappers (with specific high/low volume settings) instead of an actual cart. Since the expansion audio for this setup worked on an earlier firmware version of the AVS (v1.10), I figured I would post my issue here instead.

Just wanted to report, the latest beta (1.20b6) fixed the issues I was having with expansion audio in my everdrive n8 for Akumajou Dracula and Mr. Gimmick. Thanks for the fix!

Can confirm that enabling read/write permissions that JVeg199X recommended got the scoreboard software to log me in on my Mac. But even with that change, the AVS had issues checking the game for Scoreboard compatibility on Mac (kept saying games like super mario brothers 2 nes, joust nes, etc. were not in the database).

Super Mario 2 doesn't have score, so its not on Scoreboard. If you get that error in Joust, or any other game that is on scoreboard, e-mail support. There are multiple ROM versions of some games that might need to be added.

I'm giving up on this. I'll be back when a new update fixes the issues with Mac.

Have you tried rolling back your software version? Seems like you had no problem when you were posting scores (42 total) from the 12th-23rd?
What were you using then?

There is a different folder called "Library" in your user's home folder, but it's hidden. From Finder you can use shift+command G and type in Library while in your home folder to go to it. However, it's faster to type the command I gave in my previous post into Terminal to fix the permissions, so you don't have to navigate to the folder in Finder.

I just thought of something... would it be possible to ever add an option to change color pallet at will like you are able to do on the Super Gameboy? I think this would be a huge 1-up over the NT if it's possible. Finally be able to fight Jason in Friday the 13th without that purple color scheme or have a blue or grey Batman...

What do you mean? Having full control over each color individually, instead of picking from predetermined color palettes?

Yeah sort of. I think the Super Gameboy let you pick individual colors if I remember... I don't know if that would work on an NES, or how complicated it would be though.

I highly doubt something like that would be possible, unless it was specifically programmed for within the game. With the Super Game Boy it was able to do the palette swapping because each game was 4 colors and it could just swap out those 4 bases for new ones. Later Game Boy games could then add in features to further utilize this. The NES would be much more complex to do, that's for sure.

How is this being done? Is this just heaving programming/manipulation from the emulator?

It's a video of someone doing a nes hex palette edit. Not sure how it works but the forum rules needs a description for the video lol.

Ok. This is what I did to get it to work on Mac OS X 10.11.6.

1. Finder.
2. Click the Go tab pull down menu.
3. Press the option key and you will see the Library folder icon.
4. Click on the Library folder icon.
5. find and click on the Application Support folder.
6. Highlight the Scoreboard folder.
7. Right click on mouse and choose Get Info.
8. On the Sharing and Permissions tab highlight everyone
9. Left click and change to Read & write.
10. Done.

A lot of steps to make, but for me the Terminal command didn't work. May be this will work for you like it did for me. Good luck and happy gaming.

New vers for mac that might help with permissions, and has some debugging info in the log. If yours is already working then no need to change. I will now be listing everything as "buggy" instead of "beta"   http://retrousb.com/downloads/Sco...

So I am guessing it's ok to jump into the latest beta? Seems there are no problems so far. Really want that Unsaturated V6 pallet when I receive my console.

I've been using the beta for a week now and no issue.  You should be fine.
