what constitutes a "perfect"

my score currently, after 3 levels is 78,770

I did all my clears with the 5 lines (1,2,3,4,5,6)

am i doing this correctly?
am i missing something?

A "perfect" is achieved by cleraing all of the dice on a level without ever pressing down on the controller.  It's worth 50,000 points!

This can only be done on the earlier levels.  When the game gets to be too fast the best scoring move is to get the 1-2-3-4-5-6 hand.  For maximum points, try to clear as many solid rows of dice as possible with this hand.

^What we mean by perfect is this: if you clear a level without ever using the down-press clear function, you will score a bonus 50,000 at the end. This by far outweighs the max amount you can get per level clearing with 1-2-3-4-5-6's, but it's riskier and only possible on the earlier levels.

EDIT: Tom beat me to it, I guess I should change my username to Wil E. Coyote...

I had to pull out the manual for this one to find out what I was doing wrong. Once I got to around stage 11 or so, I just played it cool but man, just remember the order which my mind started to wander.

My updated score: 860,500. That's the equivalent of fifteen perfect levels and 10-15 lines cleared via 1-2-3-4-5-6 per remaining level. I am so over this game for now. I'm never emulating this again, however I think I'll get the actual cart, the game's kinda grown on me.

17 perfects, complete game.  New personal best for me.  All that practice on difficulty 5 last year must have paid off!

I think 18 perfects may be possible, but whenever I tried for it, I would end up losing or just having to save the game with clearing moves.  In the end, I just ignored the perfect on 18 and just went for straights.

Awesome score Tom! I'm glad to see you back in the contest

I always thought 13 was the max to get a perfect, but I actually have been able to go further and thought I might cause a surprise with this, but it looks like you when even much further with 17!!! Nice stuff!

Not bad at all! I had real trouble with 16, so good work with 17! I'm amazed that it's even possible to score a perfect that high up, I had a hard time just going for the 1-2-3-4-5-6's! Again, congrats!

Dang these scores are nuts! I think its pretty funny its easier to beat the all time best score on Twin Galaxies than it is to be the top score on here in just one week.

Well, considering we have the twingalaxies record holder in our competition, that's not surprising, for him at the very least.

Geez....I went from 5th place to 10th just like that. And I know others will be posting some good scores at the last minute. I thought my new score was pretty solid. Yep,looking like 1 point for me this week unless I can get any perfects past level 11. Puzzle games just aren't my strong suit, but I give it the good ol' college try.

I think people who use emulators should be required to record video from here on out, especially when a score gets ridiculously high. It's way too easy to cheat and fake scores with emulation.

I'd love to be able to do that, but I don't have the means to do so. If anyone out there knows of a program that would allow people to record their gaming runs who have to rely on emulators some of the time...basically everyone honestly....please let me know. It would be nice to be able to record some of my good runs and upload them to youtube.

I believe most emulators allow for recording to AVI. Kega Fusion allows it, and has a codec specifically for it. Either way, there's always Cam Studio, which is free.
