This is a good one, better than R.C Pro-Am in my opinion. If it wasn't for the fact that I think having to take a picture of your score with your name somewhere in the frame is idiotic, then I would join in.

I was expecting low participation this week due to the holidays, but has anyone given this a try yet?

I haven't had a chance yet, but I'll get plenty of opportunities to play as the rest of the week progresses.  I've got a couple new recent Master System game purchases to test out (Aerial Assault and Montezuma's Revenge), so I'll be playing R.C. Grand Prix after I test those.

My NES collection count: 757 games (16 to go for a full set)

Latest Purchase(s): Snow Brothers

"Wait...Bimmy and Jimmy??  How'd they make a mistake like this!?  Bimmy isn't even a real name!"

Beware the Bimmy Marsh!

Neat, you got Montezuma's Revenge in time.  I think it's one of the best Sega Master System platformers, so hopefully there's decent participation next week.

I'm even suckier at this game than I am at RC Pro-Am if that is possible. This is not my kind of game at all.

Buying a battery certainly helps give your car a little bit more speed, which definitely helps on races with longer tracks.  However, buying the best battery right away didn't help me on track 4 with all the twists and turns    I ran into the sides a lot and slipped to last place near the end of the race.  Also, I learned from reading the manual that whatever upgrade you buy for your racer is automatically given to the other racers.  So, if you buy better tires, the other racers will have better tires.  Therefore, I was hesitant to buy upgrades because I didn't want to have to go up against racers with top of the line tires, suspension, and motors

I think I'll pass, especially if it's used

Good job!  You're only the second person to beat one of the Sega Master System contest games.

I'm not sure how accurate that is.  It seems like I always have an advantage in the race immediately after I buy something.  It seems like they don't get the upgrade until the following race.  I think the upgrades are necessary to finish the later tracks anyway.  Since you're racing against time as well, even if you're in first place, you'll lose if you run out of time.  Without the upgrades, you won't be able to finish some of the tracks on time.

Thanks Red! This is my first win. I found this game to be easier than Pro Am. I think the wider field of view helps out a lot.
