can it be that the console is universal? it's a region free NES console. i bought it this way, so i guess i need ntsc controllers to get them to work on this console, or? it's a colored console too, so i cannot see the details on the bottom.. but it works with my PAL AC-adapter, though... but no controllers working. i have so far tried unoriginal and original controllers, but to no success... this is very confusing to me..

any ideas?

maybe if it was refurbished the port connections aren't tight. has it ever worked?
