Met an older woman on Facebook who was offering this to me for $10.

Very pleased with the condition of everything.

Looks like it was barely used.

Also picked this lot up from another guy alone the way for cheap...

May the luck you've had in the last year be spread to the rest of us.

That's insane, nice find. That's worth at least $100 - 130 in that condition right? what was this woman thinking. Id probably give her a extra $20 just for feeling bad.

Dude you should have given her $50. Buying it for $10 should make you feel scummy, especially from an old lady.

That SNES set is $250 all day on eBay in thay conditon. It's mint.

Yeah, at least buy a Teddy Bear or something.
Although you probably wanted to get out of there before any second thoughts.

The set of baggies are probably worth $10

I disagree.  She got her asking price.

It's up to the seller to do research on stuff if they want top dollar.  It's not like she asked for $20 and he said "no way, $10 tops"...

Making people feel bad about paying an asking price, as stellar of a deal as it may be, should make you feel scummy.

I disagree though with that. She did get her asking price but still its a old woman and the thing is worth at least $200 in that condition. Giving her at least a little more is the only thing to do i think in this case. And i totally agree with eigtbithero, although maybe its not something to feel scummy about necessarily.

Lol at top dollar. What about an amount that isn't completely screwing the lady over that you friended on facebook just for games?

Would you high five me if I was outside of a retirement home and got some 100 sealed NES for $.25? At a certain point you're fucking somebody over, sellers asking price or not.

Listen, i'm an evil reseller who sells over $100,000 a year on eBay and I've been in countless positions where I've actually offered more when I specifically ask for games and the seller lowballs themselves.

I have to look at myself in the mirror everyday, it's bad karma in my opinion. Posts like this make me want to punt all my stuff away on eBay and start collecting something else.

What if this was your Grandma, still cool? What about your Mom, still cool?

I would love this deal. Sellers asking price, take it and run. Good pickup!

Lol @ some of these posts.

I don't always come across great deals, so I'll take what I can get thankyouverymuch.

In my area I have to contend with reseale shops that send their employees out every morning to garage sales and thrift store to find cheap games as well as Ebay resellers with no jobs (apparently) that pounce on any new Craigslist posting that pops up.

And to be completely honest, I have offered more on a cheap item that I felt bad about...and you know what happened? That person thought it was odd that I did that, looked up the price on Ebay, then jacked up their price to match what they found online...

...So yeah, I'll take what I can get.

I wonder if some of the people posting here would also donate extra money to a thrift store if they found a box of incredible cheap games..

I would be mad they didnt offer me such a sweet deal.

I wouldnt sweat it, like you said, offering more has lost you deals before.

If you want to give someone more without tipping them off, I would give them a 20 and say its cool for them to keep the change. Ive done it in the past. No ones ever offered up change, haha.

Maybe if it was something like a CIB Earthbound I'd say offer more. But finding ANYTHING reasonably priced is a chore anymore. Nice find.

You got a great deal, and she got rid of it and $10.... Sounds like a Win/Win.

Don't sweat the ""honest"" folk. You did nothing wrong and it's not your job to inform the seller of the value. Also, at least your a collector. 99.9% of these people saying they would offer more are completely full of shit anyways. Good deals are hard to come by nowadays and you take what you can get. Peroid.

Sickeningly good deal, ha. I'm green with envy around the gills over here.

Nice snag. I've yet to see a boxed SNES in the wild, and I doubt I ever will. (I guess it's not technically "in the wild," but close enough.)

Although I understand and appreciate your sense of justice, I don't know how this applies in a commercial context. Specifically since the Mom seller was under no due influence or duress. Or at least that we know of.

She stated a price and he gladly paid. Isn't this capitalism? I don't understand why people cry over this in North America. We are all capitalists.

This. So many people on this site self-proclaimed freedom fighters and justice league complex.

Makes $100,000 a year? How does someone complain about another getting a deal for $10 and making that sum of money a year. I don't get the picture

To be fair he said he sells 100k a year on ebay, but after taxes and paying "honest" prices thats really only like 25k

I'm not social justice warrior-ing anybody. What I am saying is that I guaran-fucking-tee that zombi had a wanted ad up in some way or fashion and made the seller offer up a price.

If you're specifically asking for games, and then screwing people over through your wanted ads or in person at garage sales, you're a fucking scumbag. period.

I've offered more than the asking price when I specifically asked for games maybe 10 times in the last four years and people are more than grateful. I'm glad some of you find it so unbelieveable that somebody would actually do the right thing and offer a fair price. I can't even tell you how many times I've offered more on craigslist to lock up a deal because a majority of collectors are willing to lowball any amount, anything for a great deal right? Why not take 30% of $100 instead of $0 of a $100.  Then you guys wonder why it's so much more difficult to find deals.

I never said I make 100k on eBay, those are my total sales annually.

I can only imagine the context of this one and OP taking advantage of this poor lady. Then you guys saying "well her der she should look it up." Or maybe OP who posts on a fucking NINTENDO FORUM should do the right thing and offer the lady a fair amount. Here's what I'll do, next week I'll post about how I bought a special needs guys Pokemon sealed mint collection for $5 so you can e-high-five me over that. Hey, he should look it up right?

Ive seen his ads on facebook, nothing predatory about them. Maybe she sent him a message saying she had it, and he said how much, who cares. What if it were a garage sale?

Wheres your finders keepers? i would like to hear about some of the deals you make on your way to 100k in sales.
