So I picked up a golf NES game today.  It typically weighs about 3.5 ounces and this one was about double to the feel so I knew something was up.  I opened it and found 2 bundles of 25 $100 bills, $5000 total!!!  They are all dated 1985 and older and have clearly been in there a long time.  They are real bills too.  These kinds of things don't happen to anyone, simply amazing! I can't imagine how many hands this game could have gone through in the last 25 years.

I don't know what to say... If this is real that's awesome although I doubt it for some reason...

Wow all old stained bills too... looks real. That's crazy, and to think I've had at least 5,000 Golf carts go through my hands if each one had only a $1 bill inside...

Don't lie. I know you shit a little in your pants when you saw all that cash. Go buy a neo geo four slot upright, a 25 year old bottle of sctoch, some spendy stogies (I recommend some alec bradleys), and spend the rest on Stadium Events and a trip to the strip club.

I will most certainly have a look at the weight of the other games that could have come from the same person. I think 50 bills is the most they could have fit so any more would have had to have been put in another game.

That was probably smart - making an anonymous account - lotsa crazies out there. And WOW! This is incredible. I saw the thread and was immediately skeptical, but the pictures helped. And I don't know why anyone would go through the trouble to get $5,000 in $100 bills to pull off a stunt like this, so it seems legit. Wow...

What a great hiding place for money!!! But apparently, too good of a hiding place, since I'm guessing it was accidentally sold - probably for like $1, haha.

I hope they're not traceable bills, or stolen $$$ from some kind of police sting - it is pretty crazy.

My next question is how in the hell do you just forget you have $5,000 stashed away in a $0.50 NES cart? I have thought about doing this several times in the past but with my luck it would get mixed up with my "For Sale" pile.

I was thinking the same thing. When that person discovers what they've done, they'll feel terrible.

Man, that should make you feel good about any money you spend on your collection in the future.

Probably the same way that some of the other big finds happen. People pass away without telling anyone what they had and boom, find of the year.

It had the standard flat head screws. Makes sense as your average person doesn't have a security bit. All I know is that I got it on ebay. I've bought too many ebay listings with golf to be able to know which one it came from. I got worried when I first opened it as none of the bills had the metallic security strip but they apparently didn't start that until 1990

Looks like drug stash money to me, lets be honest here, who would ever check a NES cart for cash? A friend of mines father was the local DEA officer and he would tell us all kinds of ways people would stash money in toys, VHS tapes, gutted 8track carts ect ect.


Pretty awesome find if in fact this is true, go put that in the bank and sit on it awhile!
