Which firmware for the AVS and Everdrive should I start with for the best experience with each? I just want the smoothest possible experience with the least amount of graphical hiccups. Thanks in advance everyone!

Firmwares 1.20b6 and 1.30b2 gave me the fewest problems. 1.30b2 still has a few things being tested.

Can't speak for everdrive.

RetroUSB is aware of the glitches, and not everyone who uses an Everdrive has encountered the ones reported here.

Thanks guys! Mine are coming in today and I'm psyched to boot it up! So just run with the latest firmware for the Everdrive then?
I have most of the carts in my collection that I'd ever want to play, but the N8 is just better for game nights away from home.

Just as Tulpa said, I have had great luck with 1.20b6. I only recently switched to it am very happy. I am running the latest everdrive firmware as well. Firmware V16

I have not tested 1.30b2.

I absolutely love my AVS and my Everdrive.

I don't own an Everdrive, but 1.20b6 has also been the most stable firmware for me so far. I haven't experienced one bug. I tried 1.30b2 out, but it has a bug with the interpolation feature of turning itself on when it's supposed to be off.

1.30b3 is out now and interpolation seems to be working correctly now. Still waiting for Krikzz to update the Everdrive since I'm still getting artifacts on some games, though SMB no longer has artifacts and some games like the first Flintstones have much less than before.

I have been noticing some artifacts at the bottom of the screen on Spy Hunter, but not a deal breaker- just flickering wrong colored ground tiles.

All the time or sometimes? Try extra sprites off.

I've only gotten it to happen using the Everdrive N8. My regular Spy Hunter cart doesn't do it to my knowledge. I'll test it some more later on.

I've tested out some games (and the N8) using 1.30b3 on the 2nd rev AVS. Though there are still issues, it's nice to see that progress is being made and as I was uploading, b4 was made available.

b5 is also out, and seems to have most issues addressed now.

I just tried it at at first test, the popping issue seems greatly diminished which is a sigh of relief. I can finally say that I'm truly happy with this machine.

I'm also watching Analogue as they claim to be making some sort of HDMI to analog adapter that will allow for their Super NT to play light gun games on a CRT.

If they can pull that off, ideally I'd like to see something similar for the AVS. It would truly make it a complete NES replacement in my case.

If it uses regular HDMI, it should work for the AVS as well. I don't see RetroUSB putting out their own.

That was also my though but I read somewhere that it might be proprietary. Hopefully, it's not the case.
