I must be missing something. I ran out of time in the exact same spot and finished with 250k fewer points. The second half of the level gets pretty crazy and I had to spend most of the time dodging just to make it to the boss.

Are you getting the 4 not so hidden bonus letters in both stages?   I don't know their total value, but the 4th one you pick up in both stages are worth 100K each.  They're more spread out and a little trickier to spot in the second stage.

Also, I'm actually having fun with this Caravan Mode.  Makes me wish the whole game was just vertical stages.  The horizontal scrolling stages in the Normal game kind of... suck.

That could be it. I got the four ant hill looking areas in the first stage, but I didn't know there were any hidden letters in the second one. I'm probably done for this week anyway. I'm in the middle of playing a game of TMNT 3 right now so hopefully I can get some practice runs in before the contest goes live. It turns out that I'm really rusty from not having played it since the last contest back in 2013.

Every vertical stage has 4 of them and they are worth 10k,20k,50k,and 100k. Also there are a few enemies worth 5k and 10k each. In the normal game when you uncover all the letters and spell HECTOR you are awarded one million points. Happens on stage 5.

As soon as I saw your score I started playing to get that score today your not the loser your very good at a shit ton of games and #1 on leaderboard overall

I was going to join Tom in the retirement home after this half, but I may have to hang around until the Double Dragon 2 contest next half so I can go out like John Elway instead of Brett Favre.

Well,there goes my shooter genre winner icon. I know these are fun and all,but I am a selectively competitive person and I like winning. Most weeks,I put a lot of time into these games to try to do so. It took me several hours just to beat cdbblw's original score. If I can never win,then I feel like my efforts are a waste and at that point why even bother? I'm know I'm taking these too seriously,but like I said...I'm competitive and want to win.

Sorry Guts.  But, I too am competitive, and really don't like to lose.  I was very disapointed in my performance at NWC 2015 yesterday, so I'm glad I was able to complete this game with a good score.  Next week is going to be tough for me though.  I like arcade style beat-em-ups, but not my favorite to play through.

You have done extremely well. If our places were switched,it's a safe bet that I'd be super pleased this year and you'd be extremely disappointed. If I can't get a win at some point I'll probably just quit playing. That may sound stupid,but maybe people who are competitive like me will probably understand.
