Apparently you only get points by not killing enemies in dungeons so no.

Fun game, shame I won't be able to go for a clear. Anyone who follows the SNES thread knows how much I like action RPGs (I've basically beaten every one on SNES)

I'm pretty sure 7500 is the best you can do. That's with taking intentional hits to get by enemies rather than killing them. (Not an official score, this was from messing around another time)

I feel so out of my element this week.
This will end up poorly. :S

Yeah I just redid the dungeon and got 7400 something. So progress is the name of the game

...The boss of the second dungeon is an octopus.
This is not my week by any means.

That second boss gave me a lot more trouble than I'd like to admit   I found the third boss much easier

I am absolutely terrified of things with tentacles.
I have no idea how I will stop freezing during that boss fight to kill it. I might not make participation this week... Sweet...

You missed out on the Kick Master contest. There's a fearsome tentacle boss in that game.

I foresee not performing very well in this.

Yeah right Bea. I'm actually good at this game and foresee a 9th place finish for me and a top 3 for you😜

That will only happen if I am cleared till next weekend to have some "liquid courage" to face my fears properly!
Otherwise I won't even place.

6/24 Update: This is likely to be my final score. Since childhood, Chapter 7 has been a rage-inducing mess for me. The sudden increase of randomness, combined with the near-requirement that you have the health for shooting-star, and more dire effects of contact with "regular" enemies is a recipe for disaster. To this day, the change in standard level music still sends a shiver down my spine. I remember the correct paths yet I still get killed in stupid ways. With all of maybe a combined hour of gameplay I can muster on Sunday, I'm doubtful I'll make it any further. Kudos to those that completed the game, especially those who were playing it for the first time

My wife and mother-in-law took the kids out of the house for a couple hours today and yesterday as my father's day gifts.  So, unless this game can be cleared in a couple total hours...

I think it took around 6-8 hours to clear it my first time.

I've definitely never played this before. I had to look up what to do against the second boss.

Is that what the magic wand does? I assumed that was for the boss

Well, had a shot of rum (aka "liquid courage").
Time to face my fear and overcome it.
