The Neptune is a 32x and Genesis all stuffed into a Genesis 2 case. This is actually round 2 haha. The first attempt didn't go too well. I am using a VA4 motherboard. I have a different method this time. The next step is cutting 64 wires and soldering them to the underside of the genesis board. The other side goes into the cartridge slot. This allows me to better troubleshoot by being able to plug in the 32x and other carts.

It's pretty cool and a fun project, only downside is the 32X wouldn't really be usable if the process was undone, most guides recommend soldering direct to the 32X edge connector. They're also hard to diagnose and fix issues on.

Neat project! I miss Sega as a console company.

Check out my comic, The Scientists. It's like a "Genius-centric 'Goonies' that can turn thriller at any moment".

Here Is what the next step looks like. I'm experimenting with wire length. Then I'll cut, strip, and solder all of them. Then I can test to see if it will still run a game. Much better than soldering directly to the 32x pins

I attached some wires on it yesterday. The insulation melts pretty easily on these wires unfortunately. But it's coming along.
