That is cool! I recall seeing these at Babbage's even though some say that they were never in stores. They had other SNES accessories packaged in blister packs like that (AC adapter) too. I was already aware of the SVHS cable from the back of the manual and remember being intrigued to actually see one. Of course, outside of Japan, most were sold here as "Genuine Nintendo Spare Part" accessories in a plastic bag direct from Nintendo. I've had a couple over the years.
Only person I recall saying that they bought one in a retail package like this bought it from a Nintendo employee at a major event, like Campus Challenge, Super Weekend, Powerfest, etc. Was that you?
