Collecting hangtab nes games

Are there any hangtab collectors in here.   I have been collecting hang tab nes games for a couple years.   

Im wondering what your thoughts are on them.  

I picked up up this spy hunter not too long ago.  I'm not sure it's any more valuble than a rev a non hangtab copy, but it sure is cool.

I love them. They are so brutally tough to get sealed though. Some of those third party hangtab games (sealed) are tougher than black box hangtabs (sealed).

Oh that stinger is rad! I have a mint stinger. Not sealed though.

I am actually only collecting non black box hang tab games. Those are what I love. I picked up a perfect kid Icarus not too long ago.

I don't actively go after them but I do think they are awesome. I know I have at least one non black box hangtab in my collection. Was reorganzing my collection last week and noticed it but do not recall the game. Will look tonight.

Im only missing 4 hang tab boxes out of the whole set of hang tab games. I have a lot mint hang tabs but most of them are ridiculously hard to find mint. Some of them dontshow up in mint condition for years at a time. Thats whh you see some stupid prices on seemingly non desirable games sometimes. If you miss out on a mint hang tab games you might not being seeing it again for a long ass time.

that's nice ! but the op is referring to nes games with "cardboard hangtabs" they were die cut into the back of the box

^ hahah you're right   I just can't find more pics of them handy unfortunately. Stinger's the only one I saw in my photobucket. But yeah they are pretty much my favorite thing to show off

Good luck with sealed if you weren't collecting pre 2010. For the rest of us folk, I enjoy going after the hangtab CIBs when the price is right. I picked up an Elevator Action and Tag Team Wrestling in the last two weeks myself.

There were also a ton (15-20) of NM / Mint Hangtab CIBs on ebay recently from the same seller. I came in second on a handful but didn't win any, only was willing to pay so much. A couple of them did do exceptionally well though.

bah.   You couldn't find these pre 2010 either.   In fact you have to remember that in the old days things were not as well understood, for one, but also, not as many games had been found yet.     I remember a beat to hell popeye going for... $400? around 2003 because that copy was the only option on the market.   I'm talking this thing was waterlogged, but if you wanted a popeye it was a popeye.   It wouldn't get $400 today, 14 years later.   We're talking a VGA 30 or 40 or something.

Anyways, most of the third party hangtabs I have I've acquired post 2010.   Not all, but most, like this one.   The bottom line is they've always been exceptionally difficult to find whether pre 2010 or post 2010, that doesn't matter.   OK it would cost more now, but them being 'cheap' them didn't help you any because there weren't any available to buy.
