I actually briefly corresponded with this guy back in 2000 or so, but he made a perfect clone of Zelda 1 for PC, and he's stuck with it to today (afaik). It's basically an unofficial Zelda quest maker. I've never been into the idea myself, but thought I'd share anyways since it's kinda neat. KHAN mentioning the Zelda randomizer on the Assembly Line podcast made me think of this.

It does surprise me that we haven't seen this talked about more on the forums, over the years.

I have a handful of quests people have made that have been on my "to do list" for quite awhile... damn backlog

Yeah, I have tried quite a number of them. Really really neat stuff!

I made a ZQ game for a class project back in '06 I think? I really liked the program, and some of the quests people have created are amazing. Even just playing the original with the BS graphics is enough for me; so pretty!

What's incredible to me is this thing has stayed around for almost 20 years without a C&D. Perhaps it is because they kept a low profile and aren't asking any money for it.

It's a cool system, I just wish things were better organized and it was easier to find good or unique quests. Also, the last time I used it there were some compatibility issues with previous versions as well as modified versions of the system. It was still a little rough around the edges back then. I don't know what it's like now.
