Well, I'm nowhere near the high end of these scores, but I can at least get my first participation.  It seems like every time I got a lucky streak going, there'd be a really bad run on the lower table in store for me.

I can definitely see how that dude scored 1.6 million. You can more or less go indefinitely once you have the safeguards in place and you know the patterns to keep the ball safe. I screwed up my run by somehow letting the ball go under my flipper even with the post in place.

The maddening part is I don't think I ever once got one of the slot machine bonuses

You still have to luck out even with all the safeguards in place. All you have to do is lose one of the side thingies which can easily happen any time you're on the lower board and you're vulnerable again.

I hope to figure them out, but my current score isn't too shabby.

How good are you at the Mario bonus game? If I'm lucky, I can rescue two princesses in a row, and that's the best I've done at it.

I've gotten two once. I get one maybe 33% of the time.

I dig this game. I'm not a pinball wizard or anything and have hardly ever played on a real one. I used to play the Windows space-themed pinball game a lot as a kid. Nostalgic for that this week.

I'm curious about what the B mode is all about; worth a Google, I guess.

You might make top 3 this week, man. Nice score.

Ha, hopefully. I never get complacent, in the rare event of my posting a decent score. Too many bonafied NES sorcerors on this forum. But it's all fun. Last night, I just turned the radio on and had a nice time playing and listening to my local alt rock station.

I want to keep pushing, but in response to your other post, I think a lot of it is definitely randomness. I mean, I've had balls completely escape me a bunch of times. It's disheartening. My latest score was almost entirely achieved on my last ball; it's so tempting to rage quit when I lose a ball with something low like ~3k, but I try to resist.

It sucks for the flippers to go invisible (that was so disorienting), but they come back at 150k, thankfully.

I haven't had much time for these contests lately, but I really like pinball, so I made sure to get in a few games this week.  I'd like to see if I could loop the score, so hopefully I'll have a chance to play a bit more later this week.

Edit: Looped the score!

Having a top 5 was definitely not enough, too much great score falling into the participation. Not to say that participation used to be only 1 tiny point

Score updated a bit. Ugh, I suck so hard at saving Paulina. Didn't save her once in that run, despite many attempts. Not good at that minigame. At all. And I feel like I get worse and worse because when I first started playing this week I was able to do it more. Go figure.

I'm only good at saving Paulina in weird streak where I do it like 5 times in a row and after that every time I get there my ball take the exit in no time.

The big/fast points are in the upper playfield anyway

*Updated my score by a wee bit.

Been having fun with this one all week.
For whatever the reason, the first time I turn my NES is always my best run.

Unlike Rollerball, where each new run made me feel like I was figuring out the table more/mastering ball movement more.

Both games are great fun. Just wish I could crack "Pinball's" mysterious table.

Fun game, but I'm not having a whole lot of luck figuring it out. Dropping my participation score here, might try for a better one later.

It's fun _and_ infuriating. All too often the the game simply decides to bounce the ball down the side gutters or between the bottom flippers with nothing I can do about it. I played for hours the other night and a high score wasn't happening. I'm getting burnt out on this game and I'm about ready to call it quits.

Fun game, tough when the flippers disappear. I think it's a lot more luck based than real pinball when the ball decides to drain
