I am trying to split Kid Icarus .NES file to the CHR and PRG. It keeps coming up with a 128KB for the PRG and 0KG for the CHR. Does anyone one know why? Or what the two files sizes should be? Trying it with rednes by kevin selwyn. I have used this web program before with luck but this game is not spliting.
It's UNROM. It's 128KB PRG-ROM, and 8KB CHR-RAM. No CHR-ROM, so it outputs no data in the CHR file. And I also made a readnes3 (and readnes2, but it's gone now.), that one never worked for me so beware of bad splits.
Will the game play with only the 1 PRG ROM? I doubt my burner will burn 0 KB. Or are you saying that I need to find another spliter that will output the 8KB CHR? If so do you have any suggestions/links?

The 8KB is a CHR-RAM, it is ON THE BOARD. It's RAM. You only store stuff to it when you need to, nothing is uploaded by you. The graphics for the 8KB CHR-RAM are ALL in the 128KB ROM. You ONLY have a program ROM, that's it.
