Hi Guys, just picked up a CIB FF Guy black box.  I've seen the orange Blockbuster box before, but not the black one, couple of questions:

Where could one buy this back in the day?

Is the BB rarer than the OB and if so, how much harder to find is it?

What is the ballpark value?

Thanks!

I thought this was a BBV exclusive they had ported from Japanese Version, at least thats what I read at some point. I thought the orange box was the only one. Love to see some pics man.

I think you might have a repro box there because to my understanding this is all that came with a CIB. Hopefully you prove me wrong with some pics.

Here you go guys.  Gerald is a great friend of mine and I thought I would help him post pics of his most excellent find.  Snes expert collectors would be most appreciated in this matter.  I have never seen one of these boxes in person and have only heard about them.  Does anyone have the story behind this one?  Awesome find Gerald!

I believe it was sold like this in Canada and in the U.S. it was sold as a blockbuster exclusive in a orange box

Wow nice find !

Ive only seen the 2 sealed copies from the NOC auctions. They had the black box opposed to the regular orange box.

maybe it could go $1000 or maybe more... who knows?

how do you put an accurate value without an auction or a huge buy it now with best offer.

i reallly like bidding on these kind of auctions but everyone always yells at me for even asking.
so good luck if you decide to sell and i am interested, if it does go to auction!

OK I just dont want him to get a big one, then find out its worth 500.  Better the other way around.  I really have no idea... just saw a orange sell for $150ish once.

Ha! I emailed the guy who was sellin this on craigslist and I guess your the one who beat me to it. Man that price was a steal, but the black box on final fight guy is strange indeed I saw the pic of it that the guy posted, could be a repro there is several guys in the area doin shady stuff like that. Looking at the pics I doubt it. Anyways congrats on the score. Looks sweet man.

I seriously think this will sell for a quite alot Gerald. If your gonna sell it I would definitely put it up for auction. I'm really glad to see this is legit, i had my doubts when I first saw the listing. Amazing condition too.

This came up a long time ago, and I only remember seeing only one or two of these ever. It's definitely significantly rarer than the orange version and I'm sure it would fetch a pretty penny, especially in that condition. 1000 bucks? Could very well be, but it's not likely.

I'm also pretty sure that picture from the link was Langfeld's.

To you guys doubting $1,000, have you noticed SNES CIB selling prices this year? $1,000 is more realistic than you think....

Either put it up for auction or put it up for a riculous BIN OBO. This is one of the cases where I actually would encourage a high BIN OBO simply because it's so damn rare. The only one I've seen is maximus' sealed copy... and ironically enough I was talking with someone about it the other day.

In other words, there's Final Fight Black Box and there's everything else. This is an undebatable R10 in the current market. But it boils down to whether collectors will want it, or will shrug it off as a variant that they don't care about.
